Applying settings to multiple warning

I just put this in as a feature request I hope it isn't already enabled somehow:shock:

Either way I hope Im not the only old fogey to suffer this problem
Any young fogeys doing it too?:lol:

Brief title for your desired feature:
Rating add to 'ALL SELECTED' warning

How would you like the feature to work?

When setting a rating or any other attribute I would prefer that when more than one image is selected I would get a 'warning' or confirmation that I was applying it to MULTIPLE files rather that the current e.g. 'Rating set to 3' message I would like a e.g. "Rating set to 3 to ALL SELECTED' in CAPS because I hardly notice otherwise.

In fact I would rather be able to set a preference whereby it prevented me from doing that unless I OK'd it, i.e. a 'Do you really want to do that to all selected' message with an 'OK' button highlighted (so I can hit 'return' on my wacom pen) or can hit a 'Nope got it wrong' button

As a preference it wouldn't annoy the hell out of those with younger and more agile minds;-)

Why is this feature important to you?

I keep (still!) applying ratings etc to multpile images when I don't mean to - and I don't even notice sometimes until much later (i.e. only having meant to set o to one image).

I am so concentrated on the image I forget I have multiple selected and wouldn't notice if the warning was tiny or didn't make me 'OK' it

You do have such a warning when you tell LR to create previews, but I think it makes sense there. If you are in Loupe view, "concentrated on the image", then the rating does apply to that image alone. If you are in Grid view, it applies to all. I feel this is one where they've got it just right.

I don't mean when creating previews, but when in loupe but with other images selected in the filmstrip I don't always rmemeber to apply settings in the loupe view vbut may do it in the filmstrip and thence the problem

The reason I do not think it's just right , for me at any rate , is that I have managed to do exactly what I mentioned several times

I'm only mentioning previews because you do get an "are you sure?" warning, and it makes complete sense there.
