applying copyright notice using IPTC metadata

I am trying to export low res with a copyright watermark.

There is a box to tick [Copyright Watermark] on the Export files section, but where is the text file located so I can add my name.
What is the IPTC metadata they refer to in the help files?

I have have had a look around the program and the help area but just can't quite sort it. Thx

Welcome the forum John.

You want the Metadata panel, bottom right panel in Library module. There you'll find space to add your copyright data to the files.

You can also save it as a Metadata preset which you can apply to all photographs as you import them into your LR catalog, to save you having to remember to do it later.

Which items are displayed in the Metadata Panel is configurable by the drop down list on the left side of the Metadata Panel header. If you don't see the copyright text box, ensure you've selected "All" or "IPTC" to expose that variable.
