Hi guys,,,I like the new IA Denoise that came with 14.4...EXCEPT...how to I apply the new denoise to a batch of images.
Used to be I'd select the multiple images, then click the Denoise button. Now, when I select the batch and implement Denoise, it only affects the first one in the batch. I have 120 images...I sure don't want to apply it image by image.
Thanks

  1. Select a bunch of image (they all have to be RAW)
  2. Turn on "Auto Sync" in the Develop Module. It's the lightswitch icon on the " Sync" button at the bottom of the right panel group
  3. Check the "Denoise" box in the Detail panel
  4. WHEN DONE TURN AUTO SYNC OFF

Thank you,

Note...IA Denoise used to be slow, now its a killer...200 minutes estimate for 113 images.
I don't know about the newer DeNoise being faster than the older one which created a DNG (all else being thesame), but like all the "Ehnance" or "AI" features, the speed is incredibly dependent on your GPU (and its memory). This can litterally be the difference between 20 minutes and 7 seconds.

The previous way, 113 images would have taken less than an hour. Now its more than 3.
I have 64 ram, an nvidia GPU card with 8 GB, on a 4TB SSD C drive.

In addition to Auto Sync, you can do Sync Settings, to avoid the dangers of Auto Sync. You can also create a preset with Denoise enabled and your preferred default amount for the Denoise Slider.

I guess you have a fast internet connection , as the process relies on the data being sent to Adobe servers and back?
No, it's a local process.

What were the dangers of Auto Sync again? I know it was mentioned in another thread but I forgot.

Imagine you are working on an image in the Develop module, while at the same time you have a bunch of images selected in the filmstrip (not an unreasonable situation, right?). Now imagine that you have forgotten that Auto Sync is still enabled....so every single edit you make to the image in the main edit window is then automatically applied to all the other still selected images. If you don't see the information bezel in the main window telling you that the last edit was applied to xx images, then be prepared to be shocked when you eventually realise what you've inadvertently done.

Despite the UI changes that Adobe has made in this area, it still happens to many users (including myself).

Ahhh. Right. That has happened to me.

Another scenario I've seen reported: You've got Auto Sync enabled, intending to apply your changes to all the photos in the current folder. But instead of just the photos in the current folder being selected, all the photos in the catalog are selected. You're well aware that the black information bezel will alert you that you've got Auto Sync enabled, but you don't notice the photo count displayed is too large for the folder.

I ran into the same issue. The AUTO SYNC option works great, but there is a reason why Dan emphasised in red to turn that feature off once done. I, for one, can guarantee you that I will forget to switch it off again.
I found an alternative method: I apply denoise to the first photo, then select the entire batch and click on sync.
