any way to export LR metadata as XMP?

When I first began working in LR about a year ago, i checked the option to automatically write all changed to XMP. I used this as an absolute backup in case my LR catalog & backups all went to s*#t.

During the past year I have changed computers a few times. It seems on my hop skipping through different workstations, i forgot to check this feature back on. I now have thousands of images without XMP sidecar files. This scares me. I'm a cover all your bases kind of guy.

Anyway to send LR on a mission to update and if needed, create XMP sidecars for all photo edits in the catalog?

In Library, All Photographs Collection, select all and cmd/crtl-s (for save) and all metadata will be written to files.

But note that if you are specifically wanting actual XMP sidecar files, they are not written for certain file types, notably JPEG, using Ctrl-S.

The XMP is written into the file in this case Jim, as for DNG, Tiff and PSD.
