Annoyinbg behaviour of collapsed panels

Dear friends,
in Library mode I often have the panels hidden with F7/F8 or the (Shift)Tab (LR 2.7 on XP)

What really gets in my way is the behaviour in which when I go to the right border to scroll down, if I go overboard just one teeny pixel, the hidden panel will spring back into existance covering my scrollbar and I then have to either click TWICE the little triangle or move the mouse out of it and wait for a one second timeout.

Can this behaviour be turned off ? I would like the side panels to come back only if I click on the little triangle explicitely or if I use the F keys or Tab.

Right click on that little border that contains the triangle and choose Manual from the context-sensitive menu, and then it'll only open when you choose.

Also note the very handy "Auto Hide" setting. It'll only pop open if you explicitly make it open, but it'll still go away automatically once you're done with it. Great for panels you don't need to see, but just visit for a moment. I use Auto Hide for the left panel in all modules.

Thanks for those tips. I,too, find those collapsing panels quite irritating.
