Import ALL photos show win 10 lr v5.7

! mark. how do i retrieve them. i backup when closing lr 5.7 and have tried to import other catalogs but nothing works. have i lost 1000's of pictures?

First advice is to look at this: Lightroom thinks my photos are missing—how do I fix it? | The Lightroom Queen
You don't lose 1000's of pictures overnight but it's important to rember your photo's are not in Lightroom. Backing up after closing Lightroom does only backup the catalog, not your photo's. You have to do that seperately.
