A few consistent problems I have during editing is culling thousands of photos, identifying and fixing group photos with people's eyes closed. Are there any tools available with the latest version of LR classic that will help? Right now my work flow is manual: zoom in each photo, check eyes, then edit in photo shop, import result back. This is very time consuming as I am dealing with thousands of photos every week. If I use gemini, I can identify/fix one photo at a time, but I need this done for many photos. I wonder if there are any LR plugin or tools I can use.

Nothing built into LrC flags closed eyes automatically. For that part you'd need a dedicated culling app that runs before LrC: Narrative Select and Aftershoot both detect closed eyes and show a close-up of every face, and they hand the results to LrC as star ratings or colour labels. Both are paid with free trials, so worth testing on one of your real weekly batches before committing.

Inside LrC, two things make the manual check faster. In Compare view (C) with the lock icon (Link Focus) on, zoom into the faces once and both photos stay zoomed to the same spot as you step through a burst. And in Loupe, if you zoom to 100% on one group shot and press the right arrow, LrC usually keeps the same zoom position on the next frame, so you can walk a burst looking only at the faces.

For the fix, if you shot a few frames of each group you don't need AI: select the frames, Photo > Edit In > Open as Layers in Photoshop, then Edit > Auto-Align Layers and mask in the face with open eyes from the other frame. Save it next to the originals and import it back into LrC.

Correction to my first paragraph, I was wrong there: LrC does have this built in now. Assisted Culling checks every frame for eyes open, subject focus and eye focus, and marks each one with a green check or a red X. You can switch it on in the Import dialog or use the Assisted Culling panel in the Library module, then flag the keepers and rejects in one batch. So I'd try that on one of your weekly batches before paying for a separate app.

Upgrade your LrC to 15.5 and use Assisted Culling.

The latest release of LrMobile for iPhone and Android has option to open closed eyes if you have the same person in your Lightroom with eyes open. I haven’t used it as my Android phone has been updated. It will automatically scan for the matching person. This is better than PS because it replaces it with the actual person’s eye. All features will be same as for that person.
