Just an FYI for others who have run into the problem.

Upon the first exit from Lightroom after applying the update - "Lightroom was unable to back up the catalog named xxxx v13-3. Please check your folder.....

It was set to check integrity and backup on every exit of Lightroom and it failed on the last step.

There is over 1.1TB of space available in the Lightroom backup folder.

Nice to have such a minor bug that as a user since Version 2, I've rarely encountered significant bugs.

I am still waiting on a Sonoma Update so I am still on MacOS v14.7. LrC v14 creates a backup on exit like it always has

Just quit Lightroom and start again. The backup should now go without any further problems. And no, this is not limited to MacOS Sequoia. Both my wife and I had the same problem directly after upgrading the catalog, while we are still on MacOS 14.6.1.
