First, I am not sure what effect you see that I don't see.
Second, the simple answer is - generally yes; but it will be highly dependent on what you start with. There is subject and background, and most importantly, as Tony says, the lighting. Try a couple of shots yourself of some simple red fruit, or a tomato. Put it on different backgrounds in different light; for instance sunlight and candle light. And move the light direction around a little so the shadows change.
Shoot in Raw.
Then process it to how you want it to look.
