My version of Lightroom 2 is on times, very slow - in fact, it is sometimes painfully/excrutiatingly slow in accomplishing some of what I consider to be the very easiest of tasks.
For example, this morning I have been browsing through my 'birds' folder - which presently contains 898 images - looking for ones to trash (sure, I keep waaaaaay too many!!). So, I set the view flag to show 'Unflagged Photos Only', and use the 'x' key to mark the ones I am not fond of - in readiness for deletion later. The thing is, sometimes, after pressing the 'x' key, it takes up to 4 or 5 seconds for LR to move on to and display the next image. Even if I press the right arrow to move to the next image, it takes several seconds before showing the image on screen.
Is this possibly related to the fact that I have many images in this folder...? Is there an optimum number of images I should have in a folder...?
