Im on Apple Mac M3Max using Sonoma 14.4.1 & Adobe 25.0.0.

Use to be on my T2 chip Mac, when I was using Adobe 25.0.0 and I edited & saved an image to desktop, overwriting the the old image, the thumbnail would update when saved. Now, with this new Mac, I edit & save to desktop, overwriting the old image, but the thumbnail won't update until I open the saved image.

How can I get the thumbnail to update when saved? Is this a Mac or Adobe setting or bug?

The Latest version of Photoshop is v25.6.
I have an M2 Ultra Mac Studio. I don't usually ope images directly into Photoshop but Use Photoshop as an external editor for Lightroom Classic. The results are added back to my Lightroom Classic catalog as soon as I save them in Photoshop.

To test your issue, I placed a couple of images on my Desktop (after turning off Stage Manager which hides all but the active app) I opened these images in Photoshop and made changes and hid Photoshop. the first image did not change until I clicked on the thumbnail on the Desktop, the Second image changed immediately open hiding Photoshop.

What do you mean, "hid photoshop" ?

So I dont use stage manager. I open a .jpg in Photoshop , usually a 1200 ppi image, straighten and crop and save overwriting original scan. I then resize for 762ppi size and save as, making a second image. Now sometimes the thumbnail changes when saving and sometimes not.... Tks!

Photoshop covers the desktop. You have to hide it to see the desktop under neath..

This lagging behavior when expecting the screen to refresh is apparent in Lightroom too. I don’t know if it ia an issue with adobe or Apple.
