Adobe installer not working

Hello, I've tried numerous times to install ACR5.4 to no avail. Each time the installer quits and wants me to send a report to Adobe. I've rebooted and ran utilities and my system is OK. I downloaded ACR a number of times. Nothing wants to install. So, Does anyone know where all these components go? Can I possible put everything in there proper location manually? Intel Mac Pro OS1'.4.11 CS4

Have you tried "Updates" in the help menu of PS, that should update Camera Raw pug-in which is 5.6 now.
Oops it is 5.4!! Sorry :'(

You could check the receipts folder, so see what your computer thinks is already there, and move/delete the existing installation receipt. It should be something like [systemdrive]/Library/Receipts/

Check also in:HD/library/application support/adobe/plug-ins/CS4/file formatsThis is where it lives.

What App are you expect ACR .4 to be seen in? It should show in PSCS4/Bridge, but has no effect on and is not necessary to Lightroom.

Manual installation on Mac:
1. Exit Photoshop CS4 and Adobe Bridge.
2. Open the download file and double-click Setup, and follow the on-screen instructions.
3. Launch Photoshop CS4 or Adobe Bridge.
