Adobe Camera Profiles in Lightroom 2.4

Hello,


I upgraded to Lightroom 2.4, and installed Camera Raw 5.4. The Sony A33' is on the support list now. However, I cannot see the profiles under camera calibration in the develop tab. What gives with this? I shut down and reopened, but no good. I didn't reboot. Anyone know why I cannot see my profiles after I installed the update? I saw a video on Youtube, so I sort of know what to look for. I'm not seeing anything except the same Adobe Standard. I read google a bit for quick anwsers, but I am losing too much time now.

Welcome. The profiles only show for raw images. By any chance are these jpeg?

I believe for most brands, Adobe Standard is the only Calibration profile provided.(If supported in earlier ACR versions, those profiles will be included as well, eg. ACR 4.2) As far as I know, only Canon and Nikon are supported with Camera Matching profiles.

Another guy said "Camera Raw installs don't go into LR! Whatever Profiles for your camera are in LR 2.4, and is what you must be looking at."

I'm not sure what he is getting at. My profile for this forum got screwed up. I am using Sony A33' which is supported in Camera Raw 5.4 I installed this file but the profiles are not showing up. I am testing ARW files from Sony, but the profiles do not show up for the raw photos I want to test. What am I doing wrong. I knew the profiles worked in PS, but I thought I came to understand these work with Lightroom 2. At least I saw a video on youtube, but I can't bring up what I saw, under camera calibration with the develop tab. I'm not really dense, but I am always squeezed for time.

Let me know what you think is up with this?

BBR, I think we simulposted, have a look at my post a minute before yours.
As far as Camera Raw installs, what you read is correct. ACR is only installed as a plugin for Photoshop. The profile functionality is automatically included for all supported cameras with Lr 2.2 and later versions.

The latest Camera matching profiles are included for Canon, Nikon, Leica and Pentax (including the new K7D).

Going off topic a tad bit here but you mentioned it. Click on profile> profile forum> Sony and fix whatever else too.

All I got is CameraRaw.dll in the Abode directory, but I did install CameraProfiles.exe from the Camera_Raw_5_4.zip. I'm not sure what's happening with this at all.

Hang on, let's go back to the beginning...

1. Have you installed Lightroom 2.4? If so, you have installed everything you need to. 2.4 can read and convert files from the Sony A33', as you have seen from the list of supported cameras.

2. Which profiles do you think you're looking for? You may have seen a video with additional profile options available by default, but those are only available for the most popular dSLR's - Canon, Nikon etc. For the Sony A33', Adobe Standard should be the only profile available unless you use the DNG Profile Editor to create additional profiles.

[/quote] In my PC, CameraRaw.dll only exists in the folder C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.4 What is in your "C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Adobe Standard folder?
