I created a sky mask on a photo and then duplicated it, and inverted the duplicate to create a mask for the foreground. When I selected the sky mask and reduced the exposure (or other adjustments as well) the adjustment applied to the whole image, not just the masked part. Same happens when I select the foreground mask. What am I doing wrong. Isn't the point of masking something to be able to make adjustments to the masked portion without affecting the rest of the image??
