Adjustment brush shape

Can anyone explain why the adjustment brush changes shape from a circle to an arch shape when you change its size. Does this help, some how, in the selecting of the area being edted. I personally prefer the circle or maybe a square if one is available.

How'd you get an arch shape? Can you post a screenshot? Circle should be the only option currently available.

It's a problem with the video setup in this laptop. I looked at it on another pc with a better video card and its a circle. When the arch shape paints on the image it comes out a circle and not an arch. It's a PC thing, I guess.

Ah, right! I remember seeing the same kind of effect in an early PS beta, so it must be the same kind of thing.
