Adjustment Brush changes disappear

I have an image (RAW NEF from a Nikon D5''') to which I have applied a lot (I'm talking hundreds) of strokes with the adjustment brush. All of a sudden I add another stroke and the image reverts back to the original. Not just the adjustment brush changes revert, but everything back to the original import. I can move back one stroke or delete the last stroke and be back to normal. Add another stroke and it is all gone.

I have tried:[list type=decimal]
[li]closing LR and re-launching

[li]creating a virtual image of this one[/li]
[li]going back twenty odd strokes and moving forward again[/li]
[/list]All to no avail.

I have a couple of days work into this image, so I am a bit distressed.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues? When I search the forum I only found one thread that looked like a possible match, Topic: Adjustments disappear & strobe effect

Are you really using LR 1.' (as shown on the left under your name), or LR 2.4 (as shown in your signature)? All LR 1.x versions and some of the earlier 2.x versions had a known bug on Windows where an undo could undo all changes to the image. This bug was fixed at some point along the way (I think 2.2 or 2.3, but don't remember for sure).

If you're running 2.4, I can't think of an explanation.

No. I am running LR 2.4, on Mac OS X 1'.5.8. I fixed my profile stuff before posting, but I guess it did not get picked up immediately. My signature is correct.

Joel, can you export the file as a catalog with negative file and email it [email protected]'d be interested to have a look..

I realised that I left something out the may be relevant: I cleared the Adjustment History six steps before the issue showed up. Could this be related?

I can't see anything unusual at this stage.Was the file used in any other application before LR?

No, it was imported from the camera directly in LR and has not been touched by any other app.

Just to be clear: Do you see the issue in the image?
