I have done a few Blurb books over the last number of years, but I am no expert. I have only been a Lightroom 4 user for about a year and I just did my first book from within Lightroom. VERY easy to do.... I notice that there are many templates that can be downloaded from the Blurb website for various books but, within Lightroom itself, there are just the 5 standard size books and the 2 types of cover.

I suppose I could make some blank books by using the various page designs, and then use them as templates ? What do other people think/do ?

Yep, that'll work. Or you can duplicate the books you've already designed and then remove the photos/text to create your book template too. Don't forget your can adjust the cell padding and save those as custom pages too (or was that introduced in LR5... can't remember off the top of my head)
