adding to collections

How do I add multiple photos from a folder to a collection? I only seem to be able to select and add one at a time.

Making multi-selections in the LR grid is no different to making multi-selections generally outside LR....Ctrl-click to add single images to the selections, or for a range of consecutive images click on the first then Shift-click on the last. When you've got your selections made, drag from the centre (not the thumbnail frame) of any one of the selected images and drop onto the Collection.

Or presumably set the Collection as the Target and just hit "B" after selecting?
