I have a collection set with 4 folders (i.e., collections) of images, each of which has a custom ordering. I want to make a single book out of the 4 collections, maintaining the custom ordering that I have for each collection. Can this be done (easily)? I've tried making a single collection by dragging the contents of each of the 4 collections to it, but the new aggregate collection does not maintain the order of the images.

Is the new aggregate collection's sort order also changed to Custom Order?

Try this-
1) Create a new (empty) Collection {Combined}
2) Immediately set its Sort Order to CUSTOM
3) Drag photos from Chapter-1 collection to {Combined}
4) Drag photos from Chapter-2 collection to {Combined}
5) Drag photos from Chapter-3 collection to {Combined}
etc.
Now you open the Book Module for the {Combined} Collection photos to be in the sort order you want.

I found that changing the new collection's sort order can be before or after dragging the photos into it.
