The copyright section of IPTC metadata has four boxes. The second box is labeled "Copyright". A quick way to add the copyright sign (in Windows, don't know about Mac) followed by year and my name is to use the Alt Key Numeric Code - '169. Press the NumLock key to active the numeric keypad, hold down the Alt key and enter '169 with the keypad.
