I was just reading Camera Raw by Bruce Fraser this afternoon and now wonder which has the potential to better preserve the fullest DR, LR or ACR?

ACR or LR for max DR?

ACR and Lightroom use the same engine so there should not be any difference.

I have only just realised , since reading Camaera RAW, the importance of getting the settings right in ACR or LR right at the beginning of using a RAW file
I never realised just HOW important the histogram was, in fcat what made me realise was I tried to get some prints done and they cam e out flat, from images I thought were good, so I am now trying to get to grips just with this one aspect of the process, so I understand it properly, the printing process brought it home to me WHY it matters
( I find this sort of thing really hard to get into my head)
