Hi,
I just downloaded the new acr 4.4 profile for Lightroom 2.3.
After the installation I launched LR and I selected the profile (4.4) in the CAMERA CALIBRATION side windows, but after that, the profile disappeared. Now I only have the adobe standard - neutral-faithful etc, just like before.
Is this the way is suppose to be?
Could it be because I only have a TRY version?

Thank you

Roby

Umm, what? There is no "new acr 4.4 profile for Lightroom 2.3."

I suspect there's some confusion going on regarding what profiles are and how they work. What camera are you using, and what are you trying to achieve?

Sorry for the massive confusion.....
Ok 4.4 was the older profile what I installed was the CAMERAPROFILE BETA2.
I`m trying to get the profile for the 5d mark II.
I was expecting to see in the camera calibration windows "something" to let me know that the new profile was there......something to select or choose. I do I know that the profile I downloaded is running; I don`t see any particular difference in the color of my images.

Thank you

Lightroom 2.3 already supports the 5DII. You don't need to install anything.

The "Camera" profiles you already see in Lightroom ("camera neutral", "camera standard", etc.) are the same as the ones in the beta package you're trying to install. No need to install that; that was for earlier LR 2.x releases.

You won't see anything with "5D Mark II" in the name, but all of the profiles are actually camera-specific. The "Camera Standard" profile for the 5DII is different than for the 4'D, for example.

Camera profiles Beta2 are no more betas and are included in the Lightroom 2.3 release. What version of Lightroom do you use? Adding a signature with this info and OS might help and we won't have to ask again. Go to "User CP" link in the blue bar top of page...

EDIT: Oops! Simulposting...

Hmmm.....I was installing something already installed!
I have no chances of ever becoming a GURU, that`s for sure.

Thanks everybody for your help.

Roby

Thanks for your signature Roby!

This time your question was not OS specific but adding your OS to your signature would be fine also: Mac Windows? version?

To remove the profiles go to the following folder (based on your operation system) and delete the specific folder for the profile you no longer require. Then restart LR.

Mac: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles
(note: go to the Library folder for Macintosh HD, not your user account)

On Windows 2''' / XP: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles

On Windows Vista: C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles

I did that. The funny thing is that both ACR 4.4 and 4.3 still show up in the camera calibration profile drop down menu and both appear to be still active???

They should be embedded in the program, from what I remember. Just leave them there.
