Absolute vs Relative Presets

It's my understanding that the presets, both what ships with LR and what you create, are absolute (i.e. Red 3', Clarity, -1') as opposed to a relative presets that would add to an existing setting (i.e. add +3 green to whatever green setting is already). Am I correct? Is there any way to create or a workaround for creating relative presets? Has this been suggested to Adobe?

I ask because an accurate setting might not be a pleasing one. For example, I may want to white balance a picture, but add some warmth back to it.

You're quite right Reid. No, there's no workaround, but it's certainly been requested many times. Here's the Official Feature Request/Bug Report Form.

In the meantime, not a preset, but the Quick Develop panel adjustments are relative.
