A question about publish services

I have been using publish services to publish images to Flickr. Simple publishing works great but I'm not too happy with the re-publishing. If I so much as change a keyword on a published image, it is marked for re-publishing. Not too much problem there except that rather than simply updating the Flickr tags with the new keywords, it re-uploads the image too. When a Flickr image is re-uploaded the image URL changes so if I had linked the image to my blog, readers there would now see the "image unavailable" placeholder.

I have also inadvertently caused some published images to be marked as "Deleted photos to remove" by selecting an image in the "Modified" sub-collection and clicking remove from collection, thinking it might remove it from the Modified sub-collection. It doesn't, instead marking whichever other image was selected for deletion.

My question is whether there is anyway to remove whatever flags an image causing it to be in the Deleted or Modified sub-collection? I want to do this before doing a publish again so that I don't have previously published images being removed from Flickr as I suspect might happen.

Based on my experiences with this I don't think that these services are quite ready for use yet and I need to try Jeffrey Friedl's Flickr plug-in in LR3 and see if it works better for me.

Yeah, someone else said the same (or maybe it was you on another forum...)

The services are very definitely early beta still at the moment, and they are limited by Flickr's API too, but hopefully they'll be able to improve it further for a final release, and Jeffrey's no doubt hard at work too.

I can't think of a way to do that at the moment, but I haven't played with LR3 for a few weeks while I've been busy moving house, so I'll bear it in mind when I get to play again next week.
