3rd party preset mess

Hi,
I wanted to install new presets, Matt Kloskowski's retouching brush presets found at:

http://www.lightroomkillertips.com/archives/presets/


Matt's retouching brushes...they just never showed up in LR at all (and I think I followed what his directions properly). When I go to Develop and look under Custom brushes only the preinstalled LR ones are there. I did restart LR after putting these in my Local Adjustment Presets folder.
Ideas??

Hi Stephanie, just running back through some old threads.

So have you got this working ok now? Restarted LR? Where have you installed the brushes?

Couldn't get the brushes installed though I restarted LR many times.

Did you put them in a separate sub-folder? Adjustment Brushes must be in the top-level of the folder User>Library>Application Support>Adobe>Lightroom>Local Adjustment Presets.

Many people make the mistake of grouping them in a sub folder to keep them together.

A typical problem on Windows, is that those folders, by default, are set to 'Hidden'. Your profile says 'Mac', so I presume that isn't the problem.

I just did the downloads for my Mac that I hadn't done for the last month (although I have no idea if this ultimately mattered), redid the steps I'd done without success 1' times before and VOILA! Success!
