2nd copy on import

can I move my 2nd copy on import without affecting my lightroom classic. It is taking up too much space. I have changed the route now to an external hard drive but would like to move the previous "backup downloads" of the 2nd copy to the external. thank you

Yes, that's not a problem. Once Lightroom has finished creating the second copy it promptly forgets all about it, so you can do whatever you want with it without impacting Lightroom in any way.
