1.4.1 update not available

I decided to go ahead and update to 1.4.1 last night, but I found that the update page is now unavailable. After my browser tried for a couple of minutes to load the page, I instead got a page that says:
Site Area Temporarily Unavailable​

We're sorry, the site area you've requested is unavailable due to scheduled maintenance. Please try again later.​
I tried again this morning, and it's the same story (for both Windows and Mac). Anyone know what's going on?

Alan, I'm seeing the same thing. Other product d/l's seem to be working, so it doesn't seem to be site-wide.

I've asked "what's up?" on an Adobe forum. If I get a response, I'll post.

Thanks, everyone. I was able to get the update from the FTP link that Victoria provided.

It's weird that some of us can get the web update page and some can't. (BTW, I'm glad to know that it's not just me :)) It may be that it's broken on just one of Adobe's servers and functional on others.

I can get on intermittently, but I'm having problems with the whole site timing out.

Don, did you actually start the download? I've been able to get as far as clicking that button, but then the d/l fails. In general, it's currently very erratic, and never successful.

Interestingly, no problems with ACR on the same page. (Ooops, spoke too soon, now that's not working either)


Well, that's enough of that, time will tell .....

I just downloaded LR1.4.1 from Adobe's FTP (from Victoria's post), but I cannot get it working. I downloaded it, but when I open the file I get an error telling me "a problem occured while extracting the archive. Please try downloading the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.4.1 Installer again"... :?

Anyone have this same problem?

A couple of days ago I found out many people had problems with the LR1.4 update, and reinstalled 1.3. Should I install 1.3 again before upgrading to 1.4.1? (if so, how can I install 1.3?)

No, you should be able to upgrade straight to 1.4.1.

Try redownloading and see if that fixes it - sounds a bit odd! Otherwise, possibly some leftover files from a previous installation attempt?

Still a problem downloading

This is still happening for me. Adobe obviously does not care and I suspect, looking at the forums that it is a way of limiting damage when the update is still buggy but without actually admitting it!!

Huh? How do you figure they don't care? I just tried, and was able to download without issue. Here are the links I followed:

Windows
Macintosh

Welcome to the forum kevvyb, sorry to hear you're still having trouble.

Adobe aren't intentionally limiting downloads - 1.4.1 is a public release, and the most stable to date. It's version 1 software, so some bugs are still to be expected, but there's nothing huge in this one. And they've been quite open about the problems they did have, which would suggest that they DO care.

If you're still having problems reaching the http download page, try the FTP links further up the page instead. They have worked every time without fail so far.
