1.3 is more slow then 1.2

i found the 1.3 more slow then the 1.2 , i mean the sliders are slow to move in the develop module using the zoom ratio Fit to screen

the 1.2 is blazing fast , the 1.3 is slow

i run it on xp , p4 3.6 ,4gb of ram , and 4 sata2 in raid

i did notice that the sliders are slow , sticky not smooth only in the fit to screen zoom ratio in the other ratios it's fast

i played in the catalog setting , with different setting and i tried to render 1:1
, update ati drivers ,i have a x8'' pic express with 512 mb of ram

this version 1.3 has for me the same problem of the 1.'

When you post or Edit a Post there is an option below the text box: Show your signature. Check it.

Once done it should be on by default.

I would be curious to see an answer to this also, looks like everyone is more concerned about a signature.

We are trying to provide specific answers to problems and it is very helpful if we can address replies to a specific OS as a lot of problems are OS related.
I understand that this issue with Windows is a configuration one and as I am on Mac only will defer to someone with the knowledge to help.

I've been discussing this one with Giovanni on another forum, and suggested he wander over here to see if any Windows users had any more ideas, other than those I've already suggested.

As a bit of background, Giovanni's also had problems with 'sticky' sliders in previous versions, but we have yet to figure out why.

1. Deleting the preferences file to rule out corrupted preferences
2. Starting a new catalog to rule out a catalog issue
3. Restarting the computer (ok, guess you probably have done that by now!)

i have to say that lightroom 1.2 work perfect to me , really perfect!!!


the 1.3 i find the sliders only in the develop module , few sensitive ,smooth but i reapet only the ratio fit to screen , in the other ratios like Fill to screen,1.4 and so on go great

i found the same problem in the first release , by the way some of my friends found the same problem

i did the point 1 and 2

the 3 don't know , i will do it again , i uninstalled 1.3
delete the preferences =

C:\Documents and Settings\mantra\Dati applicazioni\Adobe\Lightroom\Preferences\Lightroom Preferences.agprefs

this morning i did a fresh install of xp
and a fresh install of lightroom 1.3
nothing
i tried every possible solution , the catalog setting , preview setting , program setting

the 1.3 has a develop engine or other code different by 1.2
1.2 works great to me
1.3 is really very low

is there some tweak for the 1.3?
maybe a command line to enable th 1.2 enigne?

I can't think of anything that's changed THAT much that would affect the sliders in 1.3.

So run us through the steps you take, right from importing the images, and explain where exactly you're seeing it behaving slowly?

(Or just stick with 1.2, if you were comfortable with it!)

This description of sticky sliders sounds similar to what I described in this thread. It appears no better, but certainly not worse, in 1.3.

well i installed 1.3 and clean every things (the preference),the reg files...

run it and make a new catalog
preview size =1'24
quality low
find *.cr2 files drag & drop
preview = minimal

every thing go good outside the develop sliders (they are jitter and sticky)

yes thanks victoria , but i fear that the future update for me are not enjoyable

what can i do ?
go in computer store , and ask to install lightroom and buy the pc where works great?
and hope that the future update will be great


ps by the way , i tried many programs , almost every program like bibble ,phase one (beta too) , every programs ,why only lightroom has to have such problems :twisted:

If 1.2 works perfect, I would stay with it and forget about 1.3.
Use what works.

Check on the Navigator panel Geoff - you've got FIT, FILL, 1:1 and a dropdown of other ratios. I'm guessing Giovanni means FIT.

i can' buy a new camera and use with 1.3 or future version , it's sad

by the way , why only lightroom can't have smooth sliders
