OSX High Sierra
Exact Lightroom Version (Help menu > System Info): classic 7.2
Was waiting toi this upgrade because i thought it would solve my issues.
Unfortunately not. Can't use the quick develop tools, creating previews; i don't wait for it. Closing and reopening directly does show...
Operating System: Windows 10
Exact Lightroom Version (Help menu > System Info):Lightroom Classic version: 7.1 [ 1148620 ]
I have been experiencing really bad performance issues lately -- not exactly sure when it started but think it may have been after the CC and Classic install. It is to the...
Operating System: Windows 10 Home and Pro
Exact Lightroom Version (Help menu > System Info): Lightroom Classic version: 7.0.1 [ 1142117 ]
Changing the cache location in preferences has no impact on the location of the Velo cache. On my machine, this is a huge performance hit.
The C drive on...
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.13.1 High Sierra
Lightroom Version: LR 6 (perpetual)
(Please go to Help menu > System Info to double check the exact version number)
Question or Description of Problem: I have a 6-core Mac Pro (late 2013) with the mid-level graphics option and 64 GB of RAM. LR 6...
One can always learn something new...I am new around here, can't tell if you have already discussed it, but today I stumbled upon this video about "SSD Overprovisioning", which could be LR related.

Have any of you started using Lightroom on the new Surface Pro? I'm curious how usable one would be as an editing machine, and particularly how much difference in performance there is with LIghtroom between the i5 versions and the ridiculously expensive i7 versions.
Thanks.
I hope the problems I'm having are with Lightroom and not my recently purchased iMac. I updated my old system and now have a 3.3 GHz i5 with 24GB 1600MHz 2048 DDR3 and a 2TB Fusion drive, running El Capitan, (so apparently no slouch). I am using Lightroom CC 2015.10 but at times I feel like I...
Have windows 10 with 16gb ram. When in developing module and using spot removal or adjustment brush as I'm working the image area goes black and then back again??
Also when using spot removal, heal or clone, there is some blur remains after using clone or heal - how to over come this?
I use lightroom 5 as a library tool to keep track of my photo and video clip collections and perform basic editings (mostly cutting). Most clips are no more than 30 seconds long. I run lightroom on laptop so that I manage my media at home or on the road. So far I am happy with this workflow...
I am running Lightroom CC under Windows 7, 64 bit. My computer is several years old, but should still be good enough to run Lightroom without a problem, even though my catalogue is quite large (about 26 GB). It has, however, been plagued for some considerable time by Lightroom crashing...
I know some of this has been covered before but I need some further advice.
I recently upgraded my monitor to a lovely, wonderful etc, etc Dell UP3216Q, which runs natively at 3840x2160 (i.e. 4k). It cleared out the bank but the images are great, so much so that a professional photographer...
Hi there
I'm new to this forum. Initially I was posting this question in a mac forum... but the lightroom part seemed to be too specific for most users there. I really hope that someone here can give me a recommendation.
My wife is a photographer and is using an older macbook pro at the...
LR5.2
CPU: i5-3380M @ 2.9GHz
8GB Ram
Win7
Prebuild 1:1 Preview
Takes 5-10 second to zoom in 100% on 5d3 or 6d Raw files, that have not been edited. I think that's too long. How to bring it down under a second without hardware changes? I can not imagine modern computers require 10 seconds to...
I wonder if Victoria can address this - Victoria noted two performance improvements in 2015.6 (Batch Export and Develop Advance to next image). These truly do seem better. However, I cannot find any mention of these in the Official Blog from the LR team, Lightroom Journal. So, I am wondering...
Is there a way to cache 1:1 image previews and camera raw on a per catalog basis? For example, I have a catalog of over 10,000 images on an external drive. I want to keep the cache on that drive to improve performance. Is this possible? If not, are there any tricks to improve response time...
