Seems that it's been happening for a while for some people: https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lightroom-classic-collapsing-working-folders-after-moving
Last week I did the reboot, reinstall and clean preferences thing while gathering data for an Adobe employee related to...
I've created a screencast that shows what I see: https://www.flickr.com/gp/akrabat/RP3GRW
Note how the two drive sections collapse after a folder move between them. The first drive section then reopens itself, but the second drive section stays closed and has to be manually reopened so you can...
Have to admit that I was suprised that an Adobe employee replied to the feeback. I may have to revise my views on being insignicant to a big corporation...
Yep, I did indeed update the bug report too. I'm currently waiting for them to let me know how to private message them to share my LrSyncDiagnostic.zip file.
Some further notes for anyone who finds this thread.
I uninstalled Lightroom Classic 9.4 and installed 9.3. In the day or so since then no matter what I tried, I have had no images stuck with an "Uploading" status in Sync Activity.
Then, I put 9.4 back in order to create a report as asked for...
I pressed "Rebuild Sync Data" around 9am this morning and it took my 11 files "uploading" down to 5. Those 5 were still "uploading" at 2pm, so I pressed it again and I've got a green checkmark finally.
Does "Rebuild Sync Data" ever lose any information? i.e. is it okay to press it once or...
I've been having sync issues for a while, so I recently completely reset the cloud side on Thursday, by:
Uninstalling Lr for iPhone from my iPhone XS.
Deleted the library on Lightroom Web by going to http://lightroom.adobe.com, clicking on the Lightroom icon, selecting "Account Info" and...
Sync is driving me batty at the moment. I completely reset syncing again yesterday - to the point where I deleted my Web catalog via lightroom.adobe.com.
I then selected 8 collections (~2700 images) to sync and left it for a few hours until I got the green checkmark on the cloud in LrC.
Then...
Canon didn't. Unfortunately, the only time we will ever find out is if whatever systems they have fail and people lose their photos :(
I do, yes and I agree. However, with Lightroom (Cloudy version), while it's relatively easy to keep backups of the photo files themselves, keeping up-to-date...
When I import images from the SD card, one copy goes to ~/Pictures/Lightroom Photos/{Year}/{Month}/{Day} and is the file is in my Lightroom Classic catalogue. At the same time, another copy is made to /Volumes/Rob-Backup/Originals/{Year}/{Month}/{Day} that I hope to never touch again.
Many...
One thing we do know since the mobile version 5.4 release is that Adobe has shipped products to production that have irretrievably deleted users images. If someone is planning to trust the only copy of the develop settings of their photos to Adode's cloud, it's a fact that is pertinent, IMO.
Mostly I don't believe that anyone will maintain my disks or backup strategy. Hence the only photos that will survive are those that either belong to someone still alive and is in their collection or does not need any maintenance. Printed photos are the no-maintenance option.
There's always a...
Very rarely, but I recently re-edited a set of photos of my family from 2009. They were extremely over-sharpened had far too much saturation applied!
Turns out that I know more about editing with light touch now!
I have an iPhone Xs running iOS 13.6. It has a storage capacity of 256GB with 183.75GB avalaible.
I have on occassions over the last few months rebooted the phone and the occassional crashes continue when I select the Lr Camera from the Widget or when I long press on the Lr icon and select...
Clearly, I'm an outlier :)
I stopped using the Lr camera as clicking it from the widget crashes Lightroom for me about 1 in 5 times and that's unacceptable when trying to capture a fleeting moment. It's much faster and significantly more reliable to press the camera button on the lock screen -...
It fascinates me that this feedback item has next to no interest.
It irritates me no end that the auto import to Lightroom functionality doesn't delete the photo that it's just imported from the Camera Roll. Do most people delete manually later or just not use their iPhones with Lightroom...
I miswrote yesterday and can't seem to edit the post above. This is the corrected version…
In theory, I think you should be able to put all your laptop JPEGS in a catalog, move it to the desktop and then import into your main desktop catalog.
To do this, select the JPEGs in Lightroom Classic...
In theory, I think you should be able to put all your laptop JPEGS in a catalog, move it to the desktop and then import into your main desktop catalog.
To do this, select the JPEGs in Lightroom Classic on your laptop and choose the File -> Export as Catalog... menu. Create a new directory...
