Export to CD/DVD on Mac ... cross-platform compatibility?

Yes I understand those points ... my question is ... are discs burned via Export from LR cross-platform compatible?

Export to CD/DVD on Mac ... cross-platform compatibility?

Thanks for responding Cletus ... I agree when the discs are burned directly in the Finder there are no issues, only when burning from within iPhoto and Aperture there seems to be a problem ... at least as far as I have read ... don't know for sure as I have never tried that ...

Export to CD/DVD on Mac ... cross-platform compatibility?

Prior to my adoption of Mac OS X Lion (10.7.2) I used Toast Titanium to burn images to CD/DVD for clients. I opted not to upgrade Toast and simply use the Burn feature in Finder. Today I realized I could forego exporting the files and just export directly to CD/DVD from Lightroom ... though Mac...

    X-rite ColorChecker Passport

This looks interesting ... If you are picky about color ... this looks very intriguing. I use camera specific profiles using the Adobe DNG Profile Editor and am very pleased with the results ... this looks like it takes the next step including a LR plugin...

    Moving, converting files to DNG

Thanks Denis and sizzle. I actually keep three copies of everything ... 1 working drive that is online all the time .... 1 backup drive that is only online during the daily or as needed backup process ... and another kept off-site that is backed up weekly or as needed during busier periods. I...

    Moving, converting files to DNG

Hi ... been awhile since I stopped by. I need some expert advice .... I want to make some changes to my LR library. First I want to migrate the files from 2 5'' GB IDE drives to a single 1 TB SATA drive ... but I also want to convert my NEF files to DNG in the process ... but I would like to...

    Poll on LR2 stability

I guess I am just lucky ... I spent the first week after the release visiting here and other forums looking for problems and solutions. Fortunately, problems that did surface, when I tried to replicate them ... they didn't occur. It may just be my workflow as I don't use the Print, Slideshow and...

If you place your cursor over the "black pin" it should show you the mask.

    New profiles

I think Camera Calibration is at the bottom because you can set it as default and apply it to all images you import. Although, if you go to a different default, I don't think it is applied to legacy images in your catalog automatically.

    New profiles

I, like many other Lightroom users loved the workflow capabilities of LR, but much preferred the color renditions of the camera manufacture. In my case, Nikon. I really like the conversions from Capture NX, but boy, if you have to do any real volume, it is torture in NX compared to LR IMHO...

populate ver 2.0 from 2.0 beta

I think you should be able to import from the beta catalog to the release version. Much in the same way as you would import from a catalog on a laptop to a desktop.

    Yipeee!!!

Upgraded this AM and am really liking some of the new additions in the release version ... like the gradient filter and the better controls on crop vignetting. I did fool around with the Beta when I had time but didn't get too deep on all the features. I checked out some of Matt Kloslowski's...

Future SDK/plug-in vs LR does it all discussion

It is refreshing that this forum offers a reasonable and intelligent discussion on such matters, I really appreciate the atmosphere. I would also like to point out that a quick look at the improvements, tool sets and offerings in the v2.' Beta, the LR team has been listening and working their...

Future SDK/plug-in vs LR does it all discussion

I too will cast my vote for the more the merrier when it comes to plugins. While the bulk of users have very similar needs, many of us have concerns that are far fewer, dependent on our line of expertise. I welcome the use of PK Sharpener which has been my only sharpening tool of choice for...

    What's your favourite new feature?

I would have to say I am very impressed with all the new features the LR Team have been able to come up with. Shows that they and Adobe ARE listening to users and responding. My favs are likely to be the ability to vignette a cropped image and print to jpg while I will hold judgement on the...

    Web Templates - Paypal plugin

I'll second the LRG One from LightroomGalleries. Been using it for months with great success. Matthew has been extremely selfless with his offerings for Lightroom users.

    How much sharpening?

Sharpening is a very subjective adjustment. Images with fine detail will require different sharpening than portrait where you want smoother skin. Images that have considerable noise will suffer more from the sharpening process, etc. There really isn't a one size fits all sharpening technique...

    SlideShowPro Export plugin for Lightroom

Hey Richard, Have you tried it out yet? I have been keeping an eye on the development of the plugin and am very interested. However, I am in over my head with Christmas print orders right now and can't afford any distractions. If you know what I mean .....

    Lightroom Backups Versus Time Machine

This, I think would make sense. If Time Machine would be backing up the LR catalog and data base at the same exact time LR is writing or updating info to these files, couldn't it cause a problem if it were to copy incomplete data? Just a thought. Not sure how Time Machine is set up to compare...

    LR Template for Password-Protected Galleries?

Matthew, No, not generate php files, but change the links back to the index.html to index.php. As I said earlier, I have been using the LRG-One template which has a separate html page for each large image in the gallery, each has a link back to the main index. Kind of tough to go in and...

    LR Template for Password-Protected Galleries?

Matthew, Thanks for the help and tutorial. Only one problem. If you change the fimename of index.html to index.php, it breaks the link to go back to the index page when navigating from other pages in the galler. I am trying yo use this for proof galleries using the LRG-1 with PayPal.

problems with presets & going between LR & CS3

I think there is more difference between adjustments of a linear RAW and a rendered image than I thought ... looks like a challenge for an experienced coder somewhere out there .... if only that darn SDK could see the light of day :)
