Hello, after a long period with no problems following my big sync issue in Nov (resolved by rebuilding sync), I am again seeing the very annoying intermittent problem of "sync" missing upon opening Lightroom. This means that the upper right cloud icon with the green checkmark is there, my All...
Hi everyone, I'm pretty sure I saw a workaround published when the change to the webapp came out, but I can't find it anymore. How can I easily drill down to see all photos taken in january 2006, for example, on the iPhone app?
Thanks a lot!
Celebration :D – the rebuild sync data finished rebuilding during the night, and LrC now shows all synced (for real) and my last RAW photos from my Indian vacation have reached my phone!
I had been afraid to do Rebuild Sync Data because I didn't know how long it would immobilise my computer...
Another update (maybe this will be helpful to somebody someday). Upon closer inspection, the global count of images to sync is slowly going down.
I found this comment in a thread that might explain what is going on...
Out of desperation I hit the Rebuild Sync Data button. I was very hopeful initially: my recent photos in the Cloud started downloading to LrC. I left the computer alone for a few hours (115k synced photos, remember) and when I returned, I ran into memory problems on my mac and had to force-quit...
Seems resetting my preferences file worked. Until at some point it didn't (I'd opened another catalog in between, maybe the cause?). Seems to be working now, but we'll see what time says.
I am not sure you really can do only one-way. Meaning, the photos from LrC that you synced to the cloud are now available in the cloud. If ever you did edit them through the web or mobile interface, those changes would sync back to LrC.
It's normal that only the smart previews sync from LrC...
Have tried resetting the prefs file, but doesn't seem to change much. Going to let LrC running for a bit to see if it works it out, but I suspect I'm going to need fresh troubleshooting ideas here... :-/
Well, I'm home, all plugged in, no more missing photos, and sync is still stuck. Going to leave it on and alone for a bit to see if it gets unstuck, but if it doesn't I'll try the prefs file reset.
Exactly, I’m sure that is how it behaved before!
I will definitely file a bug report once I confirm that making the missing source photos available again « unsticks » things.
And thanks a lot for the workaround with the collections, it’s smart!
Update:
I created a smart collection for photos edited in the last week.
Then I selected those that were not on my hard drive (117 of them). I added a "to sync" keyword and labeled them red for easy identification.
After that I went to the All Synced Photographs folder, right-clicked and removed...
Oh, I might be onto something! Looking closely, I realised there are other photos in the "sync queue" with source files missing (they're on my external hard drive back at home). Can this cause the whole queue to freeze? And what would be the best way to remove those photos from the sync queue...
I have a batch of photos imported into LrC that are "stuck" syncing to the cloud. I've wandered through the forum looking at sync problem threads and tried a variety of troubleshooting steps, to no avail. Some background and what I tried.
This is my usual workflow: import photos into LrC from...
I finally managed to get LrC to "wake up" again after half a dozen restarts, logging out and in, computer reboot (not sure anything here really helped except rebooting).
Now I can try and figure out why my last batch of photos doesn't want to sync!
Yes, that's the issue I've been having for months. Only right now (this morning here where I am) the restart fix seems to be failing again and again. Not sure what else to try.
I mean it behaves as if I had no synced images in my library, actually. So, the little checkmark top right says I'm "all synced" and all the little sync arrows next to my synced folders are missing. Screenshots attached. I'm actually struggling with this right now and have restarted LrC five...
I have the same issue. I open lightroom classic, sync doesn't work (and synced folders don't have the little sync icon). I just close lightroom (without making a backup, no idea if that makes a difference) and reopen and it works.
