I understand and that would also work. I was reluctant to do that as the desktop catalog has 60,000 images in and I didn't want to risk making a mess of that.
and getting rid of the not needed smart previews would be a pain.

Please could someone advise that this should be the correct workflow
On my desktop Export as a Catalog a folder of around 9,000 photos, but only export the Previews and Smart Previews and NOT the original raw files
Copy it all (around 20GB) to my laptop

Thanks. Do you have a formula for the extra size, or did you do it via trial and error?
Does that mean the text is "just outside" the image cell rather than say at the bottom of the page?
I would like to be able to control the position of the information.

In the print module I set an image cell size of 12"x16" and using (A3+) paper get the output I wanted.
There is some spare space on the paper so I thought I would add the Ttitle, Folder and Filename using the "photoinfo" section near the bottom of the page.

Thanks for your input. As you say it's a feature of the underlying windowing system. I'll look into that. I have seen something that enables changing the focus without the window coming to the top.
If I find it again l'll post it here.
