    Colour Temp Setting

Wow. I sort of knew that way in the back of my mind but never connected it to this issue. So that explains that bit (ie what happens to either image when I change the temp). Thanks for that. Im still not clear why the very large difference in temp numerically, as recorded, between the flash...

    Colour Temp Setting

Thank you, I understand what you say ... but .... Im still confused! See images at link below. 01 & 02 are more or less as taken, with & without flash. 01 - Flash - has Temp 5750; 02 NoFlash has temp 3150. Flash looks cooler than NoFlash, but has higher temp setting. This seems backwards...

    Colour Temp Setting

Beginner question, Im afraid. Hitherto I've used the temp slider to tweak the colour temp of an imagem and not really paid much attention to the numeric value. But today Ive noticed something puzzling. I took the same picture ( a dinner party) twice, once with flash and once without. Both...

Allow Download from Web Gallery created in LR Classic

I'm using the desktop LR Classic CC. I'd like to allow downloads of images from Web Galleries. I've tried Googling on this and am not finding much. It seems there are ways to activate this using LR mobile (but Im not using that program, I prefer the desktop). If there is no way to turn it on...

Should I put LR Catalog etc on OneDrive

I'm not planning on using any form of Cloud backup. I use StorageCraft Shadowprotect with frequent incremental backups to (rotating) external hard drive. ( I would say that Im not so good at the drive rotation as I should be). OneDrive would be for sharing with mobile devices, but as Ive...

Migrating to new PC .. AppData\Adobe etc...

Oh dear. Needing to press on, I have already done full copies. Everything seems to work just fine, so I'm wondering what damage have I done? 1. The Local folder has 2 sub-folders. Local\...\Preferences seems important, yes? 2. What in general would be the downside of copying caches...

Migrating to new PC ... AppData Qu 2...

Ah I don't have the book (yet .... :) ) but just looked at the web page. AppData\Local isnt so bad to deal with, as theres only the two sub folders. I did actually copy cache across as well. Its AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom that's more problematic, with a very large number of subfolders...

Migrating to new PC ... AppData Qu 2...

I didnt see any reference to the other folders in AppData\...\Adobe\... I'll look again.

Migrating to new PC .. AppData\Adobe etc...

I'll give it another read, but I didnt see this specific question explicitly covered. (Perhaps I should have emphasised FULL copy of AppData\...\Adobe\...)

Migrating to new PC ... AppData Qu 2...

Another question, I'm afraid. Looking at AppData\Adobe there are other folders than Lightroom. Should I copy them all. CameraRaw is a Yes, I'd assume. But theres quite a few others. At this point I have only re-installed Lightroom; but will a be doing Adobe DC fairly soom, and later on on...

Should I put LR Catalog etc on OneDrive

That's another consideration I hadnt thought of. I was thinking of speed of access etc. I really don't have my head around the whole "This PC" aspect of Windows 10 and some folders being under OneDrive and some not.

Migrating to new PC .. AppData\Adobe etc...

Just migrating to a new PC. I have installed LR Classic. Have not (yet) moved any data files etc, but they are in the on deck circle. I just want to check that its Ok to do a full copy of the AppData\Local\Adobe\Lightroom and AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom folders to totally over-write what...

Should I put LR Catalog etc on OneDrive

Im moving to a new PC with Win 10. I'm still struggling with its file structure. I have C: on internal SSD, and D: is internal HDD. Having just finished the LR install, I see that the catalog etc is on C:\Users\Richard\OneDrive\Pictures\Lightroom Is this counterproductive? Wouldnt I get...

Cant reorder images in a slideshow collection

Ok this is embarrassing / mystifying. Simply quitting and re-entering LR seemed to solve the problem. I guess as a one-off its hard to diagnose, but any idea what might have happened? Does LS get 'tired'? (Library has about 8800 images which I assume is not large).

Cant reorder images in a slideshow collection

Ive started a slideshow (made a collection, clicked save slideshow which created a nested collection that seems to be a dup of its parent; no idea why it would want to do that). When I select that lower (lowest) level collection, should I not be able to reorder the images by dragging on the...

    Ratings ...

I find myself going back and forth a bit on using ratings. The issue is basically using a 1-dimensional rating to in effect cover three aspects - technical quality; content; "creative" Basically the blurry photo of the winning goal versus yet another crisp hi def picture of the back garden in...

LR5 Crash During Import, Catalog lost

Many thanks. Not quite sure just where to look in the Windows Logs (Win 7) - theres a lot of stuff in there!! Im fairly sure the msg I saw was pretty generic, I think I would have remembered anything specific. Can you give me some pointers? There are several sections in the snap in browser...

LR5 Crash During Import, Catalog lost

Something weird yesterday - looking for help. Have been using LR5 without any issues for over a year. Yesterday doing an import (from external USB drive - my workflow is to use the OS to copy from camera to a USB drive Originals folder), LR suddenly quit (about 1/3 way through 79 JPEG only...
