Can obviously do select and delete and use that when culling etc. What I’d like is to be able to delete single pictures from the edit page—like if i’m working on a picture and just want to delete it After all, I don’t want to go back to the all photos view and then Select and then delete.

So I deleted everything in Lightroom (cloud) and migrated my (completely separate but more up to date) LrC library to LR (cloud). I checked the keep copies on my hard drive (no good reason to do so but did anyway). So now LR seems to be uploading all my LrC pictures to LR. 28,000 +/-. I get...
1. Photos are mostly JPG.
1b. Avg MB of orig pix is 5MB ( 145 GB or 145,000 MB divided by 29,000 pictures)
2. Std preview size is 5120 px
3. File Handling Build Previews is set to STANDARD (no other boxes checked under file handling)
Thanks
Does this make sense?
I imported the photos from folder "LR Classic Photos" to a new instal of LrC.
The photos take up 144 GB.
The LrC previews take up 97 GB.
This seems nuts to me but thought I'd ask.
Thanks for help--
Using LR only (no Classic) how do I locate and check/delete duplicates in LR (cloud)?
I formerly used Teelkessen (sp) on LR Classic and it worked very well, but I don't know how to use it (or if it can be used) with LR (cloud).
I have deleted/removed LRClassic from my installation and do not...
What I'd like is to automatically have my iPhone photos imported into my LR installation.
I believe I read this is possible but I haven't been able to find instructions for doing so.
Any help with this?
Thanks in advance.
Can this be done? If so, what is the process please.
Presently I have both LR and LRC installed. I have (mostly) the same 30K photos at full size in each installation (one online and one on Mac).
First I'd like to sync the two collections if that is appropriate & possible.
Second I want to...
OK, thanks again. what I have done is. export all originals from LR (cloud) to my local drive, then imported those 30K original photos to my LRClassic installation.
Because I have the $19/month Creative Cloud account, I now have both Lr and LrC installed with the same photos online and on my...
Thanks to Clee & CalifDan for the above. What I've done:
Deleted and reinstalled both LR (cloud) and LRClassic.
Then exported 32,000 LR (cloud) original photos to local iMac.
Then imported those same photos to LRClassic.
That's where I am now. Have not sync'd anything as far as I know...
I had LRClassic (before it was called classic) and 1 TB of Cloud storage.
I understood that version could use from and save to the cloud
Recently changed to LR (cloud) and am not happy with it yet
Adobe help folk say LRClassic doesn’t use cloud storage, only local drive. (True?)
Didn't LR...
Jim Wilde-- Thanks much for your (continued and ever-present) help. At the moment I have one more question to pester you with--
In the attached screenshots are my "Pictures" folder and my Adobe Apps install page. I have uninstalled LR CLASSIC, but still have all these LR Classic named folders...
I used LR Classic for 6-8 years. Recently I uploaded everything to Cloud and switched to LR (Cloudy) and deleted LR Classic. I find that I like LR now (didn't originally) so I was looking to clean up my local PICTURES folder.
There I find my original All Pictures Here folder with 26,424 items...
I guess I asked the wrong question--
Meant to ask whether LR will work with new Macs (to be announced next week) with Apple chip in place of Intel processor. Do we have any information about that from Adobe? Or anywhere else?
Read somewhere that LR will not work yet with Big Sur and so we should not update the op sys until sometime after its announcement.
Seeking clarification.
Hmm...
I attach a screenshot of my Pictures folder now. The "Photos Library.photoslibrary" is for Apple Photos.
The Classic pictures themselves (26,107) were & are in the "All pictures here" folder.
The "LightroomLibrary.lrlibrary" was created & modified 5/25/20, so it's not new from when I...
What I think I did was point Lightroom Desktop to my folder with all my Classic images in it. And told it to upload all.
I did not use Lightroom Web (though I have in past).
i was thinking of uninstalling Lightroom Classic as the next move.
Kind of like Lightroom Desktop now. Seems fast and...
Jim Wilde--Thanks for taking a look at this. As far as how I did it, well, alas, that was yesterday and the brain does not go back that far.
Think I just worked from Lightroom (cloudy) and imported all pictures from the Pictures Directory where all the Classic pictures were.
What I do know...
I may have made a grave error in the way I tried to do this.
Been using Classic for half-dozen years. Have 25K photos. Did not like Lightroom (CC) when it arrived. Now seems fine. So I "added" all my pictures (25K) to Lightroom (online) yesterday. Seems to have simply uploaded them to LR as...
Think I'm beginning to get the drift. A little (a lot?) slow these recent days. Thanks.
The only way I can see to use together would be to delete all photos from iPad, iPhone, and Cloud, and then re-sync everything from Classic, and never try again to use Cloudy.
Meantime, I'm going to try to...
Jim, thanks for your patience, too, and for this last note which again clarifies just what is going on between the different versions of LR. The idea that there are only 2 versions is what has been lost on me heretofore. That Lightroom is a “system” of apps is where I’ve gone wrong, instead...
Sorry, but I thought Adobe itself used the terms--
"Classic" to refer to the older computer-based version
"Lightroom" to refer to the full service online version aka Cloudy
"Lightroom Web" to refer to the database and the TB of space in the Adobe Cloud & it's enfeebled Editor
"Lightroom Mobile"...
