Hmmm! That's got me thinking Johan. Can't see how I could have done that, but I guess it's a possibility - anything's possible! I'll have to try and recall when I first discovered the 'missing' folders etc and what I might have been doing prior to that.
Incidentally, as you mentioned where...
Exactly Johan! That's what I can't get my head around. It's VERY strange. At least I have the exported edits from that period.
I'm beginning to think that re-importing those folders is all I can do. If I want to re-edit some of them (and there will only be a few), I'll just start from...
Thank you Johan, perhaps I will post again. It's just that I can't see how my folders could disappear from Lightroom Library along with the related backups, and I'm sure someone, more knowledgeable than me, might be able to advise or give me a clue, in case I've missed something. ....I get the...
Can anyone help please?? .....My post seems to have been hijacked on a somewhat different topic. :( Or perhaps I should just start again and re-post my question? .....I really would appreciate some advice. Thanks in advance :)
Folders previously imported from January to October 2017 have disappeared from the LightRoom Library - as have the backup catalogues for this period (I back up every time I quit LightRoom).
Quite a lot of images were edited from those folders and then exported as finished jpegs. .....At least I...
Thank you Hal. As you can see in my reply to Johan, writing the metadata to the file produced an XMP file which I didn't know what to do with! However, you can also read in that reply that I solved my problem by converting the NEF files to DNG (with the correct date/times) - getting rid of all...
I checked this out, which led me to ExifTool but when I looked into that I decided that this app was pretty complicated to use. So then I tried Hal's suggestion "also need to explicitly write metadata to the file" which created an XMP file but didn't change the data in the original files. Must...
Silly question I guess, but I was thinking perhaps I might need to import them from the camera or SD card for some reason?
Anyway, I've just gone through the process - very carefully - removing the relevant images from Lightroom catalogue, then re imported them and changed the date and times...
Thank you for that info Johan - I'm assuming you mean for me to remove the images from Lightroom only - but leave them in File Explorer then re import from there. I'll give that a go and report back. Cheers!
Thanks for the welcome and your response Hal - that sounded like a good suggestion.
I decided to test this with just one of the files first, before changing the values of all eleven. Unfortunately it didn't work :hm: ....so I guess it's back to the drawing board. Meanwhile I'm off to bed, but...
Hi fellow Lightroom users
My first time here, so forgive me if this has been answered elsewhere (couldn't find the answer in a search).
My camera had a malfunction and put the wrong date and time to eleven photos, before I noticed. I corrected this in Lightroom 5 but this data did not...
