Anyone think Adobe could improve LR-PS integration when it comes to running actions?

Have been playing with workflow and came across the "Jeffrey's 'Run any command' post-process filter" export plug-in. This allows each exported image to be fed into any app, including a Droplet, one by one. I created an export preset to save files as PSD 16bit, ProPhoto, no sharpening, save to...

    lightroom 4 - macbookpro i5 vs. i7 ?

I saw a side by side comparison on youtube of two MBAs, one i5, one i7 - they were doing a video render in Final Cut Pro (so not LR unfortunately), but the difference in speed was actually negligible. The test suggested that the extra £100 for the i7 just wasn't worth it. They also compared the...

    What's your Mouse / Tablet / Key-board setup?

Jumping into an old thread here, but its been interesting reading. Victoria's mention of the Shuttle Pro a few years back I found to be an awesome tip. I bought one and never looked back - 300% productivity boost when editing a lot of images at once. I thought it was so good I bought my...

Anyone think Adobe could improve LR-PS integration when it comes to running actions?

Hope this will be a productive discussion to find better ways of running PS actions from within LR. I have practised with various methods of doing this, but all ways seems to have pros/cons over the other and I think Adobe could be doing more to introduce this integration as a feature of LR...

Is this a bug? can someone else try this simple test

OK, This is in LR 3.3 x64 version running in Win7 64bit: In Library (or develop), press F a few times to cycle through screen modes until the menu is completely hidden - that's the way I like it to get maximum screen size. Now right click your currently displayed image in Loupe view and choose...

Edit in Photoshop CS5 does not stack new file with original

@TNG, Jim, you are a genius! I just tried the 'Edit in Photoshop CS5' option on one of the unstacked PSD files in my catalog, and the dialog box (which you quite rightly pointed out, does not display when choosing to edit a raw file) had the 'Stack with Original' option un-checked. I checked...

Edit in Photoshop CS5 does not stack new file with original

I don't have that option in the External Editing preferences. Where do you get that dialog please? See the attachment for my dialog's screendump. Thanks, Paul

Edit in Photoshop CS5 does not stack new file with original

In a folder. I am able to select my original and edited images and stack them manually - which is what I have had to do since I upgraded to LR3. They appear in the stack once I do it manually, they just don't stack automatically with an edit the way they used to in 2.7 Thanks, Paul

Edit in Photoshop CS5 does not stack new file with original

I am using LR3.2 x64 with PS CS5 x64 (under Windows 7 x64) and when I choose Edit in Photoshop CS5, edit the file, do a save, close the image, close CS5; end result is the new file sitting beside the original, but not stacked. Any ideas why? Perhaps a setting I have missed? This worked...

2 SATA drives - Where should I place my ACRcache, catalog, and images?

Here's an interesting twist on the original question: If I were to buy an SSD drive, would this be better deployed to house the LR database/previews or ACR Cache ? Or should I really splash out and get 2 of these speed demons? Paul

    Improvements of LR3.2 over LR2.7 - I am impressed!

I just remember another bugfix which appears to have been included in 3.2: In LR2 I had a bunch of orphaned keyword hierarchies which appeared in the Keyword List panel in Library mode. These were corrupted duplicates of properly assigned keywords, but these duplicates were not assigned to any...

Removing sidecar files as don't need the clutter - how to unlink?

I am sure I have been involved in conversation about this a long time ago but can't find it in search, so here goes: I want to get rid of all my sidecar files. In fact I did it already. To be honest, I don't know why I had so many as I don't generally save to sidecars but some of it may be a...

2 SATA drives - Where should I place my ACRcache, catalog, and images?

As previews are always created in the same location as the selected catalog, then these are inseparable, so for our evaluation we have to treat these as one - so the only real choice for separation we have is the separation between ACRCache and Catalog/previews. Given your analysis on...

2 SATA drives - Where should I place my ACRcache, catalog, and images?

This is a good question. I have a dedicated drive in my PC for ACR Cache, Bridge Cache, and LR Catalog. Would be interested to see what people think about the placement of these in relation to one another and whether cache and catalog would be better placed on separate drives. Paul A

    Improvements of LR3.2 over LR2.7 - I am impressed!

Apart from the main new features in LR3 which I find immensely useful, such as: Tethered capture, lens Corrections, amazing noise reduction, improved import dialog, integrated watermarking etc, etc, there are several smaller improvements which make the whole experience of LR now much nicer to...

Fixed! - LR 2.5 - Camera profiles all gone (apart from defaults)

Brad, The adobe labs article refers to the new Adobe supplied profiles, rather than those custom profiles you can create yourself with the DNG Profile editor. Sure, you can add your own custom profiles to the above paths (well, within the sub-folder camera\<camera model name>, and they...

Fixed! - LR 2.5 - Camera profiles all gone (apart from defaults)

OK - I have found a fix for this problem (rather than a work-around): If you locate your personal profile directory (the XP path is in the above post, the Vista path is: C:\Users\..user..\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles in here you will find a file called index.dat - close...

Fixed! - LR 2.5 - Camera profiles all gone (apart from defaults)

Re: LR 2.5 - Camera profiles all gone (apart from defaults) I copied it to C:\Users\All Users\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Camera\Canon EOS 5D Mark II and LR does manage to find it there - but this is clearly a bug, as the standard location for user profiles is not picked up any more in this...

Camera profiles not showing up in Camera Calibration

I think this is an issue with 2.5 - all my custom 5d2 profiles are no longer displayed in the camera calibration panel, even though they exist in the right directory under my user profile. This is causing me a lot of problems in my workflow. I will log it as a fault with Adobe - they really need...

Fixed! - LR 2.5 - Camera profiles all gone (apart from defaults)

I was just editing a set and the reds were off by a mile, so I figured I'd go check out the Camera calibration panel - low and behold, all my custom camera profiles are missing from the list. I'm left only with the default options. Now I'm not sure if this is as a result of upgrading to 2.5 or...

    Sidecar file missing

Brad - the second one! Just bugs me that something so simple is overlooked in the design. I.e. having the option by default to carry out operations on multiple items - any options which can be carried out on one or more images etc, not just this one. Thanks for your response, Paul A

    Sidecar file missing

Have attached pic of screen to show you the grid icon I see and a second showing the message I get when clicking the icon. Just want to know if there is a way to do a 'Forget' option for multiple images rather than having to click each in the grid in turn to get the message box then click...
