Went out today to photograph bluebells and when I started editing them with LR I noticed that the texture slider actually changes the colour of the bluebells. I have enclosed two images: one with texture set to -100 when the bluebells are purplish and one to +100 when they turn blue. Is this...
I am in the process of trying it the other way around (import latest catalogue into the one that has the missing keywords), but your solution is probably quicker, so I'll give that a shot next (I have to repeat the exercise anyway since I allowed LR to create virtual copies and I am now looking...
I must have accidentally deleted the people section of my keywords list (it contains hundreds of entries associated with (tens of) thousands of photos). What is the best way to get it back? All I can come up with is to go back to an old catalogue that still has the keywords and then import into...
Hi Phil,
Could you explain how this would work. I used it a lot in the past but always on a person to person basis, since you have to provide an email address and WeTransfer then notifies the person in question.
I did a reset and it still happened. I first horizontally straightened the image, then added the vertical line on the left, which resulted in the image presented earlier. Adding the second vertical line on the right made no difference. I exported the Canon file as a JPEG, reimported it and tried...
Johan is right, it is not a formatting issue. First of all, the (new) drive is APFS formatted. Moreover, I am talking about marking photos in LRC to be deleted and these photos at most occupy a few gigabytes. After I received the message, I restarted LRC and the problem did not come back. I...
Oh, I forgot what is most important. Did it make a difference? Yes, but as far as LR is concerned it is not as dramatic as I hoped for. MacOs startup is now very fast. Topaz AI is almost instantaneous; loading a file from LR into PS is extremely fast. My mouse movements in LR now no longer lag...
I dislike threads that never seem to provide proper closure. So, here goes. I did upgrade and bought a Studio M2 Max with a 2Tb SSD (for the LR catalogue and cache, as well as documents) and 64 Gb. I also went for the 38 core GPU. I considered the Ultra but after reading many tests it did not...
My photos are on an external SSD volume connected by USB-C to my Studio. Until this morning files deleted fine in LRC when I had marked them for deletion, but this morning I suddenly got the message that these files are on a volume that does not support trash. Since my last delete action last...
If you are concerned about the size of these enhanced files, I recently learned you can compress them using the Library option. I also use Topaz a lot to increase the pixel size of an enhanced denoised dng file, since LR cannot do both. I save this as a jpg and delete the dng file.
Don’t just be brutal but also be courageous. I found that the methods mentioned above sometimes just don’t cut it and take too much time, so I have learned to single out images and when I find something I like I just don’t bother with the ones surrounding it and move on to a different...
Why "of course"? For HDR to be useful rather than a gimmick one should be able to view it outside the LRC Develop mode and outside LRC. This is presumably why LRC offers a variety of formats that support HDR.
Cletus thanks for the ref, I overlooked that. Lets hope this will soon be remedied.
I found at least one reference that claims this: https://phototacopodcast.com/photographers-buying-guide-2023-mac-studio-m2/#:~:text=The%20good%20news%20is%20the,%2Fs%20read%2Fwrite%20speeds.
