Yep. I'm currently using LensTagger as a LR plugin for my workflow when importing analog scans.
Indeed, I saw when using the plugin that a lot of LensTagger fields get written in the UserComment field.
With this, I would say LensTagger real added value seems it's writting stuff in the...
Hey. If Description = Caption, then it means that either the LensTagger plug is also writing IPTC metadata not only EXIT or that Lightroom is doing some trick.
I don't usually set the time when the picture was shot because it is too hard to track when 36 exposure which I sometimes shoot on 3...
I shoot analog photography so I need to write EXIF metadata to my scan files.
I've been doing so with two external software AnalogExif an LensTager.
They all have their pro's and cons... I'm still in search for my ideal workflow...
I've been told it's possible in LR to write a...
So I tried but unfortunately it doesn't copy all the EXIF metadata.
In the copy metadata window, I get the "Camera info" section was shown in the screenshot.
In the User Comment filed, there is all the info about Film stock name, IS0 and processing lab.
In the screenshot, the User...
I created the virtual copy way before changing the metadata the other day.
I use VC's when I want to try alternative color grading or cropping. If I copy the Metadata to the VC, won't that mess up my color work on the VC ?
Yep, I know a Virtual Copy is not a actual file on the hard drive.
So I just made a test exporting a Virtual Copy to see what happens with the EXIF data.
And the answer is no, the new exported file does not show the Exif data from the original file.
You can see on the screenshot...
Thank you for this explanation. I did not know about the Keyword huerarchy rule.
However this does explain why some images are included in "houses".
These 3 images
yet they are included in the Smart collection houses with the settings I screenshoted in my first...
Ahh nope, I have no email from you.
I investigated further.
The issue seems to be touching more particularly images that are Virtual Copies in LR.
For example, I've got this image. I just wrote EXIF data on it with my other software AnalogExif.
Here is the Virtual Copy metadata
But here is...
John, are you the one who developed this software ? You write as if you are the developer.
I understand your technical explanations - I come from a video production background and have done lots of video editing professionnally - What I'm trying to communicated is that on my end it’s not...
I'm having the most ridiculous issue ever. I hope I'm doing something wrong otherwise LR is out of its mind.
I have a bunch of Smart collections by subjects. Like "Houses", "Landscapes", Cityscape", "Cars".
Let’s look at an example: Houses.
This is my Smart Collection settings...
I'm not sure what you mean by "run a Metadata". You mean write a metadata entry ?
When I enter values for Camera make and Camera model, it's not enough to click OK at the bottom right for the info to be saved ?
When I apply a setting, and I try to manually save the metadata to the...
Thanks for the tip.
I see there are two components to this. There seem to be the Exiftool which needs installing first and configuration via the terminal ? And then the Time to Exif plug in ads on the top of Exiftool to work ?
I shoot 35mm film with a few different cameras. Obviously, the camera make and model is not recorded...
I use a software called AnalogExif which allows me to edit EXIF metadata of the scanned pictures prior importing in LR.
However, being a manual operation, it can be prone to...
Thank you for this tip. I tried and it worked ! :-)
It does make sense that in a "Print" module it is the printer which directs what limitations there are on the digital paper setup.
However, I find there are a couple of problems with that approach. For instance, what if you create...
Thank you for this info. It does make sense from a printing module.
I actually don't want to print but just place a white frame around one of my pictures before publishing online.
Is it possible to do in LR or should that be done in Photoshop ?
I'm following this tutorial to create a white boarder around a picture
Problem is, I can't manage to remove the margins. The minimum I can do is 0.25 inches.
Here is a screenshot.
How can I bring these to 0 ?
Also I'm wondering why the bottom margin is bigger than the rest.
