Keep rotated image when aligning it with "Guided" option?

I'm not sure what you were thinking, but this downloads an installer on my Mac. Obviously I'm not going to install anything I don't know...

Issue with folders - question marks shown

If Lightroom says that the original is missing, then you still have a problem. Maybe the images do not show the exclamation mark, that happens if you do have a smart preview. You do have to find the originals however, and then reconnect them: Lightroom thinks my photos are missing—how do I fix...

Issue with folders - question marks shown

Select them and then drag & drop them to the correct folder in the Lightroom folder panel.

Keep rotated image when aligning it with "Guided" option?

Can you post the original image somewhere (like Dropbox), so we can have a look and send it back to you with the corrections as we made them?

Issue with folders - question marks shown

Small correction: the menu is called ‘Find Missing Folder’ in this case, not ‘Update Folder Location’.

Catalogs External backup drive letter designation (Windows)

There is no need for this on a Mac. Macs don't use the archaic drive letter system, they use a disk name. You give the disk a name, and then it will have that name on any Mac you connect it to.

    30x40 poster format

Batch export from Lightroom at a reduced size makes sense. You can batch resize in Photoshop as well, using the Image Processor, but doing it from Lightroom is probably easier. Just don't import them again only to send them to Photoshop. That does not make sense.

    30x40 poster format

Photoshop can load images as layers as well. You don’t need to do that via Lightroom. Use menu ‘File > Scripts > Load Files into Stack’.

How could one replace text in an undefined amount of file names?

The metadata of the tiff should contain the capture date, but maybe you stripped the metadata when you exported the tiff? That would change everything and really make this an impossible job. No, renaming cannot be undone. You have to use a backup to restore the situation.

Keep rotated image when aligning it with "Guided" option?

Maybe you should just accept it the way it is. Nobody (except you) is going to zoom in 800% just to check if some building is perhaps one pixel out of being aligned.

Keep rotated image when aligning it with "Guided" option?

It looks a bit curved. That would be a lens correction problem, not a perspective correction problem. Or the building is really like that.

How could one replace text in an undefined amount of file names?

Yes. Use ‘Add’ in the import dialog, do you don’t make copies. After renaming them, remove them from the catalog again.

How could one replace text in an undefined amount of file names?

Yes, add the tiffs to Lightroom temporarily so you can rename them too.

    Renaming Photos

Lightroom renames the real files, so you can never have a file that has a different name on disk than it has in Lightroom. What probably happened is that you copied the files to another location and renamed them in the process, but now you are looking again at the originals on disk. It doesn't...

    Renaming Photos

Your camera will start over after it reaches 9999 images, so in order not to have duplicate file names, you can rename them. If you use more than one camera, that issue is even more frequent.

How could one replace text in an undefined amount of file names?

In that case it should be easy. The capture date/time of the original jpeg and the tiff(s) is exactly the same, so any rename template that includes the capture date & time should work, unless you shot bursts at several frames per second. Lets say that you use ‘Shoot-YYYYMMDD-HHMMSS’, then the...

Keep rotated image when aligning it with "Guided" option?

Yes, they might be, so it’s what the viewer considers as the horizon. It makes sure that the image looks right. Vertical lines combined with a crooked horizon don’t look right. In theory those sliders do the same. They tilt the image, so the perspective is corrected. They need a perfectly...

Keep rotated image when aligning it with "Guided" option?

Yes, I took two points that are on the horizon. A single horizontal guide on the horizon will level the horizon. This only works after you have placed two vertical guides already. You can also use two horizontal guides, but that is meant for horizontal perspective correction. It is a...

How could one replace text in an undefined amount of file names?

Lightroom builds an entirely new name. You can use custom text, things from metadata, the old file name and a sequence number, but not a part of the old file name. So to remove ‘Dreh tingen’ you would have to be able to rebuild the rest, and I don’t see how (except almost everything as custom...

How could one replace text in an undefined amount of file names?

That's an example that Lightroom can not do, because those numbers are not dates it can read from the metadata. You could try it in very small batches, where you use 'Shoot36-1-' as custom text, and then let Lightroom add the last digit as a sequence number, but I doubt that this would be...

    WAL and LOCK files

Yes, it's probably best to leave it for the first restart. If Lightroom then still does not clean it up, then it apparently doesn't use it anymore.

Keep rotated image when aligning it with "Guided" option?

There are two things you can do here. First of all, choose your vertical guides carefully. That blue building on the left is not the most important building, so why place a guide there? Place it on that tower, because the tower is far more important. That blue building may have slanted sides, so...

    WAL and LOCK files

AFAIK, you can also delete the WAL file if Lightroom didn’t do that because of a crash. You can also leave it for now and restart Lightroom. If it’s still there when you next quit Lightroom, then it is clearly no longer used and can be deleted.

How could one replace text in an undefined amount of file names?

One more time: give me an example with the exact file name. The example that I gave you works because it rebuilds the entire file name based on custom text, followed by a date (read from the metadata) and a sequence number. That is what Lightroom can do. It can’t ‘search and replace’ part of a...
