Thanks for all of the comments and suggestions. I was unable to optimize my LR Catalog, I waited a couple of hours and the wheel just kept spinning. So after unsuccessful attempts at fixing the problem by uninstalling and reinstalling and using Creative Cloud Cleaner to purge LR files from my...
Thanks for this response! As noted in my original post, resetting the preferences was the first thing I tried. But it didn’t work… I am confused by your statement that it might be something about my OS configuration. What exactly? I have no idea what to do with that information.
LR is being very buggy. Frequently when I attempt to create a Virtual Copy it is greyed out and I have to restart LR and then it works. Yes, I've chosen a photo. Yesterday I made about six prints and three times I had to restart to create a Virtual Copy. I've attempted it in both Library and...
All of these filters have stopped working. using all the different ways to set a new filter or remove an existing one. Tried resetting preferences, then uninstalling and reinstalling, still doesn't work. Help please.
I have created a folder in Collections. It is titled Southwest Book 12x12. Whenever I add a new print (Print/Create new Print) to the folder, in addition to adding the new print to the folder, the existing photos in the Southwest Book folder get this new print added to it. By added to it I...
I had problems getting Photoshop to sync with Lightroom and ended up using the Adobe Creative Cloud cleaner tool and got rid of everything and installed LR 14.0.1 and reinstalled PS 26.0.0. I am using Mac 14.5 (Sonoma) on a Mac Studio M1 Max with 64 GB Ram. In the last 24 hours LR has crashed in...
When I open a Raw photo in Photoshop from LRC, and then use Legacy "Save As", an -edit appendage is added. I am told that this is due to LR, because opening a similiar photo using PS does not result in an -edit being added. Is there any way to stop this from happening? Using latest Photoshop.
If the photos were indeed removed from Lightroom, then Lightroom can't help you find them. You will have to search through your hard disk to find them. If you have backed up your computer, perhaps you could open an older version of Lightroom (before you removed them)and find them. In a Mac, if...
Yes, I am aware of that. The problem is you cannot adjust the position (as far as I know). It seems to be fixed right under the photo, which is not where I would like it. Is there a way to move that line of print up or down?
Thank you for your reply. I actually do not understand what you are suggesting. I am familiar with the Metadata field, but that is in the Library module. How do you get the metadata under the photo in the Print module? More information would be appreciated.
I am making a book of my photo prints and am including location info on the bottom, using the identity plate. The problem is when I edit the plate, changing the font size does not work most of the time, and I end up having to use the scale slider to adjust the size. The problem is that from...
Under Page Stup/Paper size/Manage Custom sizes when I try to set up a new custom size, I can enter the new dimensions, but on the left the name stays "Untitled" and i can't change the title name. I've tried right clicking holding down command only, option only, and shift only, and nothing...
When making a print, there is an option to "Create Saved Print". After clicking this, a window opens up and you have to choose where to save it (see attached file). I am in the process of printing many photos to include in a book, and just can't seem to remember to click the correct location...
Thank you for your reply. I followed the instructions: created a preset called True Neutral Parametric Curve which included changing the curve and exposure and contrast. Then did Preferesences/Presets, and chose my new presets. None of the five photos I looked at after closing and restarting LR...
Sorry for the confusion. I am indeed using Lightroom Classic version 13.1. In the Develop Module, I would like to change the default settings to several sliders: Exposure, Contrast, Sharpening, and I would also like to change the Parametric Curve.
I would like to change my default RAW import settings in the Develop Module. All the instructions I find by googling don't work for my version and OS, LR 11 and Mac Sonoma (14.1). Thanks.
If I select a photo in Librarty mode and then do Photo/Edit in/Open as Smart Object in Photoshop, then go to Photoshop and do some edits and use Save As to save my photo to an external drive, when I return to Lightroom the photo is no longer selected and I have to search to find my place. It...
”worth it” is very subjective. I have updated my computer every eight-nine years and always get the “fastest” one I can afford. It’s usually overkill in the beginning but after five years I am glad I bought it. My advice, stop trying to figure out if it is worth it and just buy the best you can...
I have a collection of 25 prints. When I click on the Collection name the prints are all present in the filmstrip only ten of them are in the Collections list on the left. I need to access some of the unlisted ones because the print names don't appear in the filmstrip. See screen capture of...
Thank you for answering the question. So in my case, since LR already has the changes I have made to the photo, and the only thing it is missing is having the correct modified date, if I don't care about that bit of metadata (I don't) then I can just ignore the little question mark over the...
OK, now that I know the difference between Save and Save As, I have a question about this pop up. Because I want my edited photos on a different hard drive and in a different folder than in my LR catalog, I always open them via Lightroom into Photoshop, and then when I’m finished editing I use...
