In the Windows File Manager it's possible to call up another field - "Date Taken" - whose contents LR doesn't alter in its editing processes.
Perhaps you can set "Finder" so it shows that?

I've organised my picture files into three distinct collections, which reside in separate folder trees...
- some 30,000 original images and scans of photos and slides, shot here in Britain, spanning four decades
- about the same number taken during our years abroad and on foreign vacations
-...
Thanks, but it's something I've had to do at least twice before!
Motherboards with further slots would a much better solution, rather than rendering the original memory redundant.,, although there are only two spaces in this instance - however the vendor...
Computer Memory | Laptop Memory |...
Thanks to you both!
Jim - I could but laugh... tried to time a similar export from a very similar but unedited RAW file, only to hear LR bong to say the job was done before I'd finished starting my watch's timer!
So I guess it's all those extra calculations my sad old processor is having to...
Just wondering, although not keen to spend the money to speed things up, but which of my PC's various shortcomings is the most likely cause of it taking perhaps 30 seconds to export a 2048 pixel long-side JPG from a 12MP RAW file (one that has, admittedly, undergone quite a lot of local...
Rather too many guesses - and I guess I should be asking in a Windows10 forum, rather than one for people who know about Lightroom?
Probably better we consider the matter closed for now - but will return with any explanation / solution that turns up!
Just for completeness, seems it was for LR5 - in 2015 - that they forced users to 64 bits ...
Older versions of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom (5, 4, 3, 2, 1) system requirements
And apparently Adobe QT32 Server is a processor for handling 32-bit Quicktime files in a 64-bit environment?
Think you'll find that it's been a solution for their various photo-editing products for many years.... although the terminology used can vary!
So, for example, this site has a page that starts...
"If you’re still having problems, resetting Lightroom’s Preferences file can solve all sorts of...
Fairly sure I only started to see this after one of the most recent updates to LR ( probably, to 7.3 ), but only began watching carefully after Firefox began using significantly more memory than previously!
Found something similar on the Microsoft Community forums: "Task Manager not showing...
That aside... attached are screengrabs of the TM open over LR
- in one all is behaving just as might be expected
- in two of the others (after doing various editing tasks, exports etc and popping out to other progs and back) LR is no longer making an appearance, neither in the list of open...
I'm surprised by the way Lightroom now disappears from the "Processes" list in the Windows 10 Task Manager - requiring a restart of the latter to see it again.
Not really a fault as such, but I like to keep an eye on the memory usage.
Is this only my installation, or something that others...
Good thing that this site doesn't have "Problem Solved" flags - as it's back happening again, just like before, on my next LR session!

PS the "Eject after..." option seems to only appear when an external source, the SD card in my case, is connected and selected.
Look for the jpg...
Jim, thanks for your reply - it nudged me into turning "Eject after Import" OFF, and restarting LR and turning it ON again.... after which it does now "Eject after Import", just like it used to !
Should have thought to try that.... duuh.
Haven't shot much recently, thanks to awful weather, but I'm finding that my SD cards aren't being "released" after the uploading/importing process ends - indeed, the "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" routine then reports that it's still in use, until after I've closed Lightroom.
Any...
[Edit to add... turning off the "Stack With" option does at least stop the extra entry being produced, but isn't as convenient!!]

Hi there!
Now using Lightroom Classic, for images I shoot in RAW + JPG and then stack as pairs in my Catalog (an unchanged workflow, from LR5 days).
But now I find that...
