This is not correct.
At Adobe Community Forums there are many bugs that currently have the status "Acknowledged".

Note: that "Acknowledged" appears on the OP of this thread.
It is likely that when eventually deployed across all products, this will render your feature request obsolete:

I think you are overestimating the 'extremity of this leap'. This is a simple and quick procedure that can fix many instances of weirdness. The upside is you are fixed. The downside is you might have to spend five minutes reconfiguring your UI to match what it was before. Or, the results may...
Preferences survive an install/uninstall/reinstall. Unless you reformat the hard drive it is safe to assume that if you haven't reset the preferences, they are not reset…
Reset your Preference File
This procedure works for both Lightroom Classic and Lightroom Desktop.
If you are using Lightroom Desktop, it can change your local storage location. Please review this setting after resetting preferences.
Reset Procedure:
1. Close Lightroom.
2. Hold down...

Why would I? As @Paul McFarlane replied, the procedure is well-documented, and the Assisted Support Channel is well-equipped to handle this.
I am afraid some will need to get beyond the 'I don't want to have to contact support' mindset. It is harsh-sounding, I know, but it is the way things are.
One additional consideration regarding 'rolling back'.
Historically, sometime between the Max (Oct) and December releases, the minimum sync version is incremented for Lightroom Classic.
13.2 won't be viable for syncing after this change is made.
" that it was technically not possible."
This is the part of your statement that is not correct. I remember no such statement.
Of course, it is possible. However, it is also dangerous and will result in unacceptable outcomes for some, regardless of how it is implemented.
Follow-up:
A separate bug exists for pasting multi-line text into the Custom Text of a Slideshow which affects Mac and Windows. The bug mentioned above is independent and covers the case for the typed text use case on Windows only.
The community thread references both bugs, and I've updated...
Note: I've rewritten the title of the bug report you submitted.
The actual failure here is that Windows instances of Lightroom Classic 13.3 and later are not correctly calculating the bounding box and padding the text's end with additional space. The change is fallout from accommodating...
