Hello, Tim
That has cracked it, all images are now shown in the catalogue within their respective sub folders.
Thanks are due to you, and everyone else who have taken the time to help.
Photographed some more steam action today and have imported the sub folder into LR 2024 Steam folder. As you will have no doubt guessed it has been user error whilst importing. I am quite new to Classic What I did this time was put 2024 Steam into the destination panel without highlighting the...
I have the 'show images in sub folders' checked. When I uncheck, the 2024 Steam folder then contains zero images whilst the 'rouge' Railway folder, (directly underneath), still contains all of the images. I have just imported an image I took yesterday - it doesn't show in the My Pictures 2024...
As you can see in the folders panel, I have managed to import the '2024 Steam', folder, unfortunately the images are not in their 14 sub folders but I feel that I can cope with that; the good news is that the folder is now where it should be. A copy folder 'Railway' can be seen under the 2024...
No. I highlighted the 'Railway' folder in the destination panel expecting the 2024 Steam folder to be imported there. I have used LR for many years without much of an issue but since going over to Classic I have to admit that the importing has/is an issue.
You are correct, the destination was the Railway parent folder. Looking at the Source panel it looks as though I have picked up a rouge folder titled 2024, This is not a folder I recognise nor do I know its origin. The file structure in the LR catalogue is as an example, '2024 Steam' and not...
As a result of issues with my catalogue I replaced it with one from the back up file and everything is now back to where it should be, except one thing. I have a folder in Pictures which has 14 sub folders within. It is titled 2024 Steam. I have attempted several times to import the folder into...
On trying to solve the issue, I appear to be getting into a deeper hole.
Going on the route of 'find missing folder' I moved to missing ones into LR via Explorer. LR catalogue was then complete for the 2024 Steam folder but the folder on disc was now empty. Trying to solve this issue I tried...
The main folder 'Railway Main Files' probably should have been named 'photos' or something similar - but that was many years ago. The first screen shot shows the sub folders when the the folder is opened via Explorer. When I open the sub folder 'Railway Main File' (second screen shot) naturally...
I've only just realised that I hadn't sent a screen shot (now included) of the folder list from 'find in explorer'. There is quite a difference in the headings between Explorer (Local Disc (C) and the My PC Pictures one sent last night. Is this quite normal or as you suggest, could it be an...
This is what I have discovered. When I right click on any dated folder in LR then 'show in explorer' it takes me to Local Disc (C). The folders within 'Railway Main File' are headed as follows; This PC. Local Disc (C). Users. User .Desktop. HDD backup. Railway Main File. Railway Main File. In...
I hope it is okay to resurrect this catalogue issue without starting a new posting. I obviously spoke too early about the catalogue problem being cured. The catalogue was complete and each image was listed as a result of your help but when I came to import a new sub folder (highlighted & shown...
I now have the 'Railway Main File' folder back, thank you, but as you can see the catalogue is still showing 6 missing sub folders. The Capsfix temp folder has done its job and is now empty. Not wanting to do an action that will be wrong, how will I retrieve the missing folders bearing in mind...
I have followed the instructions using a One Touch external drive and now have a catalogue list as shown. When I right click on one of the folders to 'find missing folder' I am taken into Pictures but I cannot get a folder to return to the catalogue. As I have already lost 3 folders whilst...
Having another nightmare with the catalogue and seek two remedies, please.
I have scanned 13 images into 'pictures' and then imported to LR. I had opened the relative folder for them to import into but you can see what has happened, they have appeared in a new folder named 2024 shown at the top...
I followed your advice and the new images taken have imported into LR without issue, and the images are still on the memory card, as well. I don't know why the images didn't appear atomically yesterday but we will see what happens in the future.
Thank you for your help
Matter solved, thank you. Two things I cannot understand, when I inserted the card reader why didn't the import button activate; the screen shot I sent is not my usual way of importing, also, I'm concerned that all of the images were wiped clean off the memory card through no help of mine.
Took 24 photos today and tried to import them into LR via a card reader unfortunately 'import' wasn't highlighted but tried to work around it without success. Put the card back into the camera and all photos not there - 'folder empty'. Tried various methods to try and find the photographs in LR...
Thank you - your diagnosis was correct.
The only issue was that when I imported from the card, the images automatically appeared in an additional 2023 folder. An original 2023 folder already existed but it was easy enough to drag and drop the sub folders into the original one. For some reason...
