Hi.
My iMac doesn't meet the minimal requirements needed to take advantage of the new AI features of Lr cloud based.
Adobe specifies that at least 2GB of VRAM are needed and recommends 4 to 8 GB.
Eric Chan writes in his article about the Denise feature the following: On macOS, prefer an Apple...
No way. Preferences reset didn't help. Two icons are still there.
One more clue.
Checking an SD card on which both raw and jpg files are saved, Lr behaves like so:
- camera icon. In the following dialog screen only jpg images are shown. No raw images. Where raw images are supposed to be, there...
The memory card is connected via a card reader.
I get 2 icons connecting SD cards, although formatted by different cameras (Nikon D850 and Fuji X100v).
I get 1 icon (the camera) connecting CFexpress cards.
Hi there.
I am using Lr cloud based desktop app.
Adding new photos, I get the dialog pop-up you can see in the attached screenshot.
Why are there two icons pointing to the same external memory card?
What are they for?
Thank you for any help you can provide.
Best regards
Guido
YES! It worked. I exported the photo as it is, andI imported it again. The process kept caption and keywords but not the people names. So I was able to name all the persons, the missing one included.
Thank you so much!
guido
The following workflow refers to Lr desktop.
I was keywording a photo of a group of people I had just imported in Lr.
In the keyword panel, Lr presents all the faces and prompts for names.
I filled all the name fields but by mistake I somehow "deleted" one of them.
Maybe there is a way to...
Thank you for the information.

Unfortunately I am still having the same problem (LR 5.4 - OS 12.4).
Editing a second time in PS, I get an "edit-edit" file as described above.
Can you replicate it, Queen Victoria?
:-?
Hi Andy,
I have the same need.
I would like Lr cloud based to display the color values (RGB and Lab) as in LrC.
A fellow posted a request of the feature in Adobe Support Comunity...
I did as suggested, but apparently it didn't work.
I still get a new staked TIFF file with an added "edit" suffix to the old file name each time I re-edit a layered TIFF file in PS.
Am I right if I say that the expected Lr behavior is that it should be possible to edit a TIFF layered file...
Thank you for the enlightening details you gurus have provided. Very interesting but one question is still unanswered.
Since the “master” database sits on Adobe’s servers, it would be interesting to know Adobe's security policy.
Maybe you find this page interesting...
Thank you for the information. This helps to understand how Lr works and to prevent information loss. Do you know if Adobe (or any other) provides any technical documentation on this topic?
Apparently Lr saves the edits moving from Editing, Crop and Mask "modules" to Grid view. It saves a version at the same time. Edits are not written in the cloud database before that move (the editing steps are not saved - there is nothing such as Lr History). Apparently, no saving procedure is...
