I'm exporting sets of images from Lightroom as layers in photoshop through the menu: Open as Layers in Photoshop...
Since I'm doing sets of 5 at a time and want to open about 25-30 sets, to have them all opened individually in PS, I keep having to switch back to LR to select the next 5 to...
The problem with this is that it would just copy any of the same bugs that slowed down the cat in first place. Basing this on past issues with other software that was used for years and found that weird issues kept coming back. So basically I'm trying to start brand new and then adding all the...
I've been using a single catalogue for years, about 130k images, and it's gotten very slow, maybe buggy (I optimize it regularly) so I'm creating a new catalogue and moving images over. I realize a number of pitfalls like published collections, etc. Is there a way to take some/all of my previous...
Well, that didn't take long. Answer: In grid mode go to File/Library/Find All Missing Photos
Amazing how easy it is to find the answer right after you post the question.
Is there a way to search for and select all missing files in a catalogue? To be clear, I want to find all images in LR that have the little [!] symbol in grid module so I have them all in one place then reconnect them since they reside in one folder.
I used Dupe file finder and it seems to have...
Hi Victoria,
Thanks for speedy response! Great, that confirms I've understood the proper way to use the sync folders command. FYI, I searched on LRQ specifically for "sync folders" and that blog post did not come up.
I'm trying to help a friend who doesn't quite grasp the LRC concept and...
In the latest email about some dude that lost a bunch of images it is stated to run the other way if someone suggests "synchronize folders." I can't find any info on the LRQ site explaining why. I use it all the time, I'm just very careful to note any missing files and go find them before I...
Mac OS 11.2.3 LR Classic 10.2
I've used tethering with a Canon 5D4 a lot. It just started crashing LR at the moment I click OK in the start tethering window. I've restarted LR, the camera, the computer to no avail. I've run Onyx and restarted. I've changed tethering cables. I've deleted LR...
Finally getting back to this headache. I did as you described, it works (or doesn't) the same in the new catalogue. I think the parent, top level keyword which should be nothing at all is the word "KEY" and there is no way I can see to remove that top level keyword within Lightroom. I think it...
That's how I'd expect it to work. I tried in a different catalogue and it worked as you showed. I created a screen video to show what the problem on this end is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7jxyYPcooYI
The parent folder "B" was originally created to hold all of my keywords so it was a top...
Your caution on SQLite is well understood and appreciated.
Removing parent keywords is what I'm trying to do. As I explained in the OP I understand the drag and drop method. The blue line appears but it does not drop as expected meaning it does not then appear with the other keywords that have...
I am trying to remove most of the parent keywords leaving the majority at the top level. I understand I should drag and drop them into that top level and the blue line shows up like it's supposed to but when I drop the keyword it does nothing. It does not move the keyword to where it indicates...
After a lot of experimentation I was able to remove the comma from the keyword list. I first deleted the bad keyword at the top level in SQlite and that made the comma appear in the "Will Export" window of every image that had keywords. Back in SQlite I added a comma, that put two commas as the...
This issue that was repaired by Phillipe a couple of months ago has reared it's ugly head again, with a different keyword attaching itself to many other keywords but does not show up in the keyword list. Rather than ask again I gave the SQLite a try and Phillipe's instructions work perfectly...
Philippe took my catalogue, fixed it, sent it back and so far it seems to be fixed. This restores my faith in humanity AND computers! Louie, I will contact both Victoria and Adobe to see it they want to look into the cause of this issue.
Thanks to all for contributing to this, I really thought...
This is much worse than I could imagine. My backup from 5 days ago has this attached to just one image:
Vertical has infected nearly every keyword, it's like a worm or something. In this catalogue I created the smart collection "Vertical" and 112,518 of 112,616 has this keyword in it. I tried...
Thanks for the response Jim.
The plot thickens. I created the smart collection with the keyword: Vertical. That contains 105k of 112k total catalogue images. This screenshot shows the keyword in the image but also shows that the keyword does NOT exist in the keyword list:
.
In response to...
The only way I see to do that is to Edit Keyword and check if the synonym exists within that keyword. I've looked in a handful of these and found no "Vertical" synonym. Is there a different way to search for synonyms?
Hi All,
I have a keyword: "Vertical" that somehow has attached itself to dozen's or hundred's of other keywords. Example:
All of the ones that are containing keywords disappear in the Will Export pane except for one:
Odd part with that is that I've searched for "Vertical" in the keyword list...
Thanks for the tip and link. It looks powerful but after installing and poking around I still don't see a way to confirm the location that is currently in italics other than one click at a time. I tried syncing metadata from the iPhone image to the RAW image and now all of these images show the...
