I'm wanting to import files for a second time which I've previously had on LR before exporting onto an external harddrive.
Unfortunately LR is not allowing me to import them again, either from my EH or the desktop. The screenshot shows what I get.
How do I resolve this problem ?
Thanks
Thanks for your reply - Point 1 sorted.
As for Point 2, I hope this helps.
I've no idea why the edited version looks so different from the exported, washed out one on the right - something I've not experienced before. (This is a very personal photography to my wife so it needs to be right.)...
The files I'm exporting are doing the following;
1. Exporting to hard drive folder AND doubling up in LR at the same time.
2. Washed out colour and editing, to the point that the edited is very different to the original - for all the wrong reasons.
I'd welcome any suggestions of help...
How do you calibrate your monitor ?
I did consider the Datacolor SpyderX Pro calibration tool but that gets very mixed reviews.
I run LR5 on a Windows 10 system with Dell monitor.
Thanks.
Having used only Lightroom 5 for several years, I'm now considering an upgrade but having looked at the options I'd like confirmation of a couple of things.
I assume the option below will allow me to store images off of my pc. (?)
How smoothly is an upgrade - do I need to remove all images from...
Many thanks Jim for a really helpful answer. I'm very grateful.
You mention I would lose access to the Develop module - so am I right in thinking I'd be unable to do any editing ?
My final question - should I be expecting any problems when upgrading to a Lightroom Classic ?
Thanks again
I bought Lightroom 5.7.1 some time ago and am still very happy with it.
In addition, I'm now considering subscribing to Adobe Photoshop but understand that I can only do so if I include a Lightroom upgrade.
No doubt LR 9.1 includes a number of positive upgrades but I have a strange question...
I'm trying to export a folder to an external hard drive while leaving the soft proofed images on Lightroom.
However, all I've done so far is drag the folder to the external hard drive resulting in all images leaving the pc's hard drive.
Shouldn't I be able to leave a soft proofed folder...
Following a couple of poor quality prints recently, I was informed that I needed to download some ICC Profiles and work in soft proof when editing images.
This still hasn't solved the problem and the images still fail to "pop".
It's not that my images are especially dark, but that they seem...
Thanks Hal for your suggestion.
Given that this path showed up yesterday when I backed things up , I assume it's the correct one to "relaunch".
Thanks again
Following a backup I've "lost" four months worth of folders.
I reopened LR after the backup only to find that all work from June to present has disappeared - even images I was working on two minutes earlier !
I'm 99% sure that some - not all - of those folders have been "smart previewed" but...
Thanks Hal
Step by step ...
Click on AB > set preferences > (exp / satur / etc.).
On using it there's no change. Checking the "show selected mask overlay" box confirms the AB is inactive.
Close AB
Open Spot Removal and use on smallest setting.
Close SR and/or go directly to AB which now works...
My Adjustment Brush in LR5 is very hit and miss - sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I get it to work by clicking on Spot Removal then returning to it. I may need to do that 7 out of 10 times.
Any suggestions how I can get rid of this annoying quirk?
Thanks
OK, dumb question maybe but I've not figured out how to close all these photographs. Obviously I've opened up pretty much everything on my laptop but am unable to close all those I don't want to work with.
Thanks for any help.
