I finally started to get comfortable with the new masking tool(s) and now I'm having a problem.
When I click on the masking tool I no longer get a toggle to turn on/off the color overlay. Second, it seems that if I use the masking tool once, it won't let me use it again for a different masking...
So, if I go back over my old files and save the metadata to XMP, can I still revert to the original imported file, or is it now locked into the files as-is?
Most of my files are on an external hard drive, and most of them are still dngs.
Let' say I want to re-import them, not just move them. Regarding the edits I have made, are they now embedded or will they be fresh out-of-the-camera raw.
When I mask, I can't enable the color filter that allows you to see the masked area--in any of the options. It used to be either the letter O or Ctrl O.
In Library and Develop mode, you can ask to view loupe info over the photo itself in the upper left corner. Can you get this camera info (Name, date etc in grid view?
I think you are right about how the problem happened.
I will try your suggestion when I don't have a 3 year old running me around in circles---and will get back to you
I'm not quite sure if I should have read further or not. I'll try to explain. It's not simple.
Like many people I backup to two EHDs: A primary (EHD1) and a backup (EHD2) of the primary. All my photos exist on both hard drives.
However: about 1/4 of the files look to EHD2 to complete the...
My files (about 150k photos() reside on one catalog. I traditionally have backed them up to 2 external hard drives. Now, it appears that through some error of mine or something that took place during a reformatting of my computer, some of the master files are on hard drive 1 and some on hard...
Okay Cletus, I did exactly what you told me to and...
It worked beautifully. I have all 140,000+ photos in the order in which I had them previously. I have thumbnails. I have keywords. I have previous edits.
It took me about 15 minutes.
I'm still waiting for something to go wrong, but haven't...
This helps, but I don't have any stored previews that I know of. My hard drive was reformatted and I have a blank slate. So, knowing that, do your instructions still apply? Where should I place the unzipped backup catalog? Is there any available phone support? I think that because I don't use...
Hi Cletus. A clarification. 98% of my files were residing on an external hard drive already, accessible through LR. Therefore, should I "add" them to LR without actually moving them?
Also, do I reload files onto LR and THEN use the catalog? Or do I start with unzipping the backup of the catalog...
Here's my problem. I have a current backup I made upon exiting LR. I have all my (140,000) photos on a backup drive, where LR knew how to find them. My computer crashed and I have no other backups. What steps do I need to take after I reinstall LR, which I assume I can get from Adobe? Is there a...
Okay. I finally have time to work on this. I cannot locate the lightroom preferences file. The link you provided says " Locate the file: you’ll find “com.adobe.LightroomX.plist” with the other Preferences files rather than Lightroom’s Presets, so using Finder you’ll need to navigate directly to...
I've enabled the Identity Plate and see my name in the center of the photo when in Print mode. However, I can't relocate it to where i want it to be. Youtube videos show that you just click on it and move it. Doesn't work for me.
Also, can you have two Identity Plates on one photo?
I purchased a new hard drive recently. It is now my primary backup. Many of my photos are no longer linked to the master file. I have two questions:
1. How do I update the link to individual photos?
2. Is there a way to update an entire folder?
