Found: Compact USB-C Hub for backing images directly from card reader to USB drive via Files on iPad, $20 USD

In response to the my thread at https://www.lightroomqueen.com/community/threads/ipad-mini-6-is-it-possible-to-backup-images-directly-from-card-reader-to-usb-drive-via-files.46126/ people said that they were able to transfer file from an SD card to USB drive directly. I ordered one just to try...

Any way to sync Lightroom Folders as Collection Sets in Lightroom Classic?

Thanks. That explains it since I believe I imported it into Lightroom first

Any way to sync Lightroom Folders as Collection Sets in Lightroom Classic?

Thanks, I don't see that it's only one way. I entered keywords in Lightroom Classic and don't see them in Lightroom

Any way to sync Lightroom Folders as Collection Sets in Lightroom Classic?

Thanks, and similarly, keywords don't sync between Lightroom Classic and Lightroom?

Any way to sync Lightroom Folders as Collection Sets in Lightroom Classic?

Similarly to importing keywords, is there a way of importing collection sets from a text file?

Any way to sync Lightroom Folders as Collection Sets in Lightroom Classic?

That's what I meant, Collections Sets/Folders. Would be nice if Adobe choose one name and were consistent.

Any way to sync Lightroom Folders as Collection Sets in Lightroom Classic?

I'm working with a client migrating his lightroom catalog to Lightroom classic, by turning on sync. Collections synk, but not the "albums". Is there any way of syncing the albums to maintain his collection organization, or must at all be done manually? Similarly to importing keywords, is...

Computer Build for Q4 2023: Sweet spot for GPU?

I am m considering building a new computer in fall for 2023 using the Meteor Lake CPU (although rumor suggests it may have more of an efficiency than a performance gain.) Currently using an Asus NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB with Asus 9700K CPU, 32 GB RAM, M2 OS/catalog drives. Am I going to...

    4-Year-old desktop

Whenever a clients says, "I want to buy....." my first question is , "What problem are you trying to solve?" If they can't answer, they probably don't need it. Saying that you want something new and shiny is fine, just be clear with yourself that's the answer. I'll consider upgrading next...

    4-Year-old desktop

I have almost the identical set up you do, and think I'll upgrade next year, not now, when we have Meteor Lake CPUs which will be a new design, PCI 5, and faster SSDs. I don't think I'll see a ton of difference running Lightroom Classic, but can justify if by saying it's been about 5 years...

Can all my old catalogs be deleted?

This certainly not a " newbie, ignorant, stupid question." It's annoying that Lightroom Classic doesn't ask you if you want to delete outdated files after an upgrade. You can delete everything that doesn't have a v11 in the files name. BTW, it doesn't look like you are generating Smart...

    Asterisk after a keyword

You must be selecting more than one image, in which case it means all the selected photos don't have the keyword with the asterisk. To apply the key word to all of the selected files, simply erase the asterisk.

What are Your Truly Useful Development Presets?

Greg, You said that you re-read my OP, but it's hard for me to get that sense from multiple comments you've made. Let me clarify: I don't use presets to create "looks," and at no point did I ever suggest that I apply all presets at once. And despite your suggestion, I'll continue to shoot in...

What are Your Truly Useful Development Presets?

Glad to hear. I also apply auto tone then tend to bring down the highlights and the blacks. Then, frequently some clarity , dehaze and texture. Most of these adjustments will add contrast, so I may need to reduce Contrast so it doesn't get over worked.

iPad Mini 6: Is it Possible to Backup images directly from card reader to USB drive via Files?

Thanks for the use info. I figure with a 256 USB drive, I can still back up my file as original NEFs and DNGs with edits. I tend to be a conservative shooter. I figure if that's not enough space, I'm probably shooting too much.

What are Your Truly Useful Development Presets?

Since I tend to be more conservative with the Shadows slider, I made a preset of -50 Highlights/+25 Shadows and will see if that's helpful

What are Your Truly Useful Development Presets?

It sounds like you didn’t read my initial post, look at the presets I listed, nor asked to see any of my photos. It’s simple: if you don’t want to use presets, don’t. Feel free to add something actually useful to this post.

Yes, I generally agree with you about presets— easier to just move a slider. But i am finding the adjustments in my preset list have been helping

iPad Mini 6: Is it Possible to Backup images directly from card reader to USB drive via Files?

Thanks for the detailed info. Sorry the iPad didn’t work for you. For me, it worked great when i just went to Bali. I didn’t even think about the possibility of backing up until I thought of it on the road. And my RavPower hub was soooooo slow. Otherwise, the process of being on the beach...

iPad Mini 6: Is it Possible to Backup images directly from card reader to USB drive via Files?

Thanks for the clarification. Yes that’s all correct. My thinking is that if someone were using an iPad and we’re running low on storage space that it would be ideal to copy files directly from the reader to a USB drive. But, I guess not this year.
