    Synced Duplicates?

Mainly for those that are not missing I would simply remove the copies first and then try to figure out what happened to the rest of the pictures, wasn't totally clear there. I mean, if I work on some panoramas with a couple of pictures my MBP from 2015 meets its maker I feel. Which is why I...

    Synced Duplicates?

is there a way other than visually to identify them as virtual copies so I can get rid of them? (EDIT: I answered my question with a quick google: How to Filter Virtual Copies or Master Files | Lightroom Tutorials) you can filter them in Lightroom. So I guess its safe to delete these virtual...

    Synced Duplicates?

Hi Jim, actually, looking at the file path now it would show /Copy1 - does that mean its a Virtual Copy right?

    Synced Duplicates?

This is what I see here. I don't see any duplicates and none of these are part of any synced collection.

    Synced Duplicates?

Thanks again! Your last paragraph basically confirmed my thoughts, to rather stick to the current setup and use lightroom CC maybe for the occasional edit on the mac as lightroom classic runs soooo slow already. However, to go back to my question regarding the Synced Duplicates. Is this...

    Synced Duplicates?

Hi Dan, thanks a lot for your reply and information. What I somewhat accomplished in the meantime is clean up all the "legacy" pictures that I had synced before into the cloud and ended up now with only one collection which is synced correctly across all devices including my Mac. On my mac I...

    Synced Duplicates?

Hey there, when I am looking in my Lightroom Classic at the Catalog Panel, I can see that I have 969 Synced Duplicates that all of a sudden appeared from nowhere. I was looking it up and googled a lot but there is no definitive answer, at least from what I have seen, what these are or where...

Managing my photos with PC at home and Mac while traveling

ok great so then I will take a look at that :) technically google drive should work as well since it also creates a local folder I would assume? At the moment I am not too worried anyways since I am only onboard so I can just use my external hard drive and keep everything there for now...

Managing my photos with PC at home and Mac while traveling

I am using smart previews as well but I think this is also where the problem lies. So I think I will then try to discard my previews to make the whole catalogue fit onto drop box and then go with previews as needed. Anything you would recommend in order for it to not become a problem when doing so?

Managing my photos with PC at home and Mac while traveling

sorry for my late replies, traveling around doesn't help :) So I just realized that I have basically 10 GB of space available on Dropbox. however the full catalogue including the previews is around 13 GB for about 30k pictures. Is that a size that is just way too big and could I possibly...

Managing my photos with PC at home and Mac while traveling

Me again :) So I moved everything onto my hard drive and I quite like the solution. But now as I was trying to look up some pictures on the go and haven't had my HDD with me I figured that is actually not 100% ideal. So I thought about using Dropbox. Usually when I am at home I do have very...

Managing my photos with PC at home and Mac while traveling

OK, that actually sounds logical and reasonable (and so simple). And I can simply open the catalogue and don't have to worry about importing or exporting because I simply use this one catalogue. In terms of workflow with mobile. If I go for that solution I could just leave the phone...

Managing my photos with PC at home and Mac while traveling

Hi Victoria, Technically speaking I should have enough space on the 3 TB drive that I usually carry with me. It's formatted for Win and Mac though. But I can check the total space later when I am home. *Edit* So the whole Catalogue including the pictures seems to be around 200 GB. Thank you...

Managing my photos with PC at home and Mac while traveling

Hi there, I have been lurking around here and reading up and its a great community overall and already helped me a lot. Now I finally took the time to ask about something that is bothering me for quite a while. I am working in IT on a cruise ship. My contracts are usually around 3 months and...
